DL #3642, #3643, and #3000 power PO74 east by Cobbs Gap in a small pocket of sun inbetween the morning clouds.
DL #3642 leads the “Big Girls” west around the curve at Ridge Row with a train of empties from the Ardent Mills behind.
DL #959 (Ex. CR 5460) drags DL #3642 (EX. CR 6792) out of the newly built Von Storch Shop to be switched onto another track.
DL #3642 leads PO74 eastbound by Lehigh Road Crossing as they just start to pick up speed again after having trouble making the hill due to leaves on the tracks and wet rails.
3642 pulling into Central Station, in Sydney. This steam engine was built in 1926 by Clyde Engineering.
Locomotive 3642 is two-cylinder, simple, non-condensing, coal-fired superheated, 4-6-0 36 class express passenger steam locomotive built for the New South Wales Government Railways in 1926 by Clyde Engineering.
When I took this shot at the 150th anniversary celebration of railways in New South Wales in 2005, it was a static exhibit at Sydney Central station due to a failed boiler.

DL #3642 (C636) leads PO74 eastbound out of Scranton with 5 centerbeams for Bestway in Cresco and a cut of grain to be dropped at Winton.
DL #3642, #3643, and #3000 lead PO74 eastbound over the Jubilee Road overpass as they struggle to maintain track speed due to the high amount of leaves and rain on the tracks.
Delaware Lackawanna PO-75 returns west up the Pocono Main back to Scranton, now with C636 #3642 in charge at the Tobyhanna Station. This is the very last American built 6 axle Alco in operation, and my personal favorite unit on the DL roster (2/1/25).
The DL OCS with MHWA #2045 & #405 passes PO75 with #3007, #3642, #3643, & #3000 at WINTON, also known as Cobbs (Gap).
