Laughing gulls breed in coastal marshes and ponds in large colonies. The large nest, made largely from grasses, is constructed on the ground. The 3 or 4 greenish eggs are incubated for about three weeks. These are omnivores like most gulls, and they will scavenge as well as seeking suitable small prey.

I dont usually do this but I am actually posting a Night HDR for the purpose of telling you how happy I am with my new Canon 5D Mark II. This shot was at 3 exp at 3200 ISO. I have uploaded the entire image so you can see just how little noise is actually generated. I will post the iso 100 shot as well but I am going to work that image a little more. Just very impressed with this camera. Also impressed with Seattle. Love it here every time I come. Its a beautiful city and a blast to photograph at night. Can anyone guess where this was shot from? location wise.

Last weekend would have been her first meet of the season. Sadly, the little one fractured her knee last October and so has to sit out for probably the whole season. Although a bit bummed about the whole affair, she's taken it in stride. There's always next year after all.

this is how you entertain yourself and come up with an image for the day when you're completely exhausted. Ha.
I was busy preparing for the arrival of my mom the next day when I noticed the basement had a lake of water and was much worse than usual and covered a larger area. exactly what I wanted the day before a visitor was to arrive! ;)
this was the day of the Big Melt. all that ice started melting, and it turns out the flooding in my basement was from the huge slab of ice on my front porch. it had nowhere to go but down? it was the funnest of times...
conor kept watch on the upstairs and made sure the blankets stayed warm.
