Trevejo es una villa integrada en el municipio de Villamiel, en la provincia de Cáceres, comunidad autónoma de Extremadura, España.

Los musulmanes, para defenderse de los ataques cristianos en la Reconquista, crearon en la sierra de Gata una serie de fortalezas en el siglo IX, entre las cuales se encontraba la de Trevejo. Tras la Reconquista, los leoneses encontraron unas tierras semidesérticas, encargándose las órdenes militares de repoblar la zona. La sierra fue dividida en tres encomiendas: Salvaleón (Orden de Alcántara), Trevejo (Orden de Hospitalarios) y Santibáñez (Orden de Alcántara).

Trevejo y Eljas fueron tomadas posteriormente por el temido Capitán Centeno, que impuso su autoridad en la sierra desde su castillo de Rapapelo, en Eljas. El actual castillo de Trevejo, debió de construirse a mediados de este siglo xv, sobre cimientos de una base primitiva.1 Como consecuencia de los daños producidos por la Guerra de Sucesión Española, se hicieron reformas en el siglo xviii en el castillo de Trevejo, que aún tenía guarnición, nombrándose en 1789 el último comendador de Trevejo. En 1859, Trevejo pasó a depender de Villamiel. El castillo ya se encontraba entonces en ruinas.

I am not a fan of Halloween. I mean I have always enjoyed the candy part of it, just not the other stuff that goes with it like the scary movies, the spooky decorations or having to dress up to go out trick or treating (thank you anxiety). But I did it anyways and was so glad when it was all over with.

Fast forward to today. Nope, still not a fan, but I will always love the candy part of it and seeing the joy of those that do love to celebrate it.

Regardless of my lack of all things Halloween-y, I still wanted to take part in the "Looking close... on Friday!" group theme for this week which is "Halloween decorations". I do have a mini pumpkin and a cute ghost ribbon so I am hoping this still fits the theme enough to count.

Está situado aislado en la costa norte de la provincia de Alicante, constituyendo el peñón una de las últimas estribaciones de las cordilleras Béticas y alcanzando una altitud de 332 metros. Esta enorme mole calcárea desciende de manera abrupta hacia el mar y está unida al continente por un istmo detrítico. Debido a sus características físicas es un vértice geodésico de tercer orden, que fue utilizado en su momento para la triangulación de España. Desde la cima es posible en días claros divisar la isla de Formentera y el cabo de Santa Pola.
