Rufus Wainwright - Going to a town (studio+clip)
Lenbachhaus, München, Germany.
Original design (1887): Gabriel von Seidl.
Redesign (2009): Norman Foster.
Whereas in my previous photo I employed X-Y-Z geometry onto an axis graph to achieve depth in a very flat scene.
Here I tried to take perspective and paste it flat onto the screen.
These two effects take the viewer from being involved within a picture to them being restricted outside of the scene therefore engaging a sense of unease.
Another picture from the vault.
This one I took in 2003 on a business trip to the Czech Republic in Prague.
I had fun with my recently purchased, first digital camera, a Canon Digital Ixus 400.

Design (2019): Sheppard Robson.
The auditorium uses a cladding system inspired by the Newcastle-born mathematician Louis Fry Richardson whose pioneering work defined modern methods of weather forecasting. Fry Richardson’s work, which subdivided the planet into hexagonal zones, has been expressed in expanded aluminium mesh on the external elevations of the auditorium. A pattern has been created by the changing the orientation of the mesh, varying the opacity of the material.
Its a bit like string theory but less dimensions
Starting to think about the group Arachtober
Last 2 (or maybe 3) years I managed to post a spider or spiderweb picture for each of the 31 days of the month. I assume/hope it will run again this year - it will be the 17th year of the group
the idea is to post spiders to Flickr during October. Spiders must be posted to Flickr during October and added to the group the day they are posted (so no pictures that have been posted to Flickr previously - they must be fresh posts (but can have been taken years previously))
If you only have a few spider pictures (or even just one) you can still participate in the group and feel the fun! Some great pictures, interesting facts and chat about spiders.
My pleasurable and mindful activity for the coming week will be to get some spider/web pictures so I have enough material for at least the first week or so.
