REDHEAD (Aythya americana)

The Red Head is a Diving Duck and is similar in appearance to the Common Pochard, however, they can be identified by their Yellow eye rather than the Red eyes of the latter.

spesso sotto i pali dove i falchi pescatori sono soliti mangiare le prede si sviluppano delle lotte cruente tra gabbiani rosei al solo scopo di nutrirsi degli avanzi che cadono in acqua.

At the start of my second trek to the 4922 plateau I had this view of the railroad track leading downstream to the potash mine at Potash, Utah. The trail toward the plateau crosses the track near this point.

Dead Vlei is a dry lake in the middle of the big dunes of the Namib Desert.
