This is where I can take sunset pictures and already have some posted on FLICKR from this spot from a few years ago.
In het weekend van 23 en 24 oktober reden de Benelux-treinen weer eens om via Lier en Aarschot wegens werken in het station van Mechelen. Zondag ging het goed weer worden, dus ik ging kijken aan lijn 16 (ondanks dat er op zondag geen cargo gepland is). Ik besloot om enkele nieuwe plaatsen te proberen om meer herfstkleur op foto te krijgen dan ik wellicht in Berlaar of Melkouwen zou zien. Daarom ging ik eerst een foto maken in Begijnendijk bij een van de boomgaarden. Voor de volgende Benelux-trein schoof ik op naar Booischot. Toen ik geparkeerd was, kwam de plaatselijke boer naar mij om te melden dat ook de straat zijn private eigendom was, en dat ik er eigenlijk niet mocht komen. Nadat ik me had geëxcuseerd, kreeg ik plots toestemming om in zijn wei te gaan, wat het wel makkelijker maakte een goed standpunt te kiezen. Een herhaling van deze plek zou ik echter niet aanraden omdat je wel een groot stuk over (blijkbaar) private gronden moet lopen om hier te geraken. Na even wachten kwamen de 2808 en de 2813 dan door met hun trein richting Brussel.

Tijdens de overstap in Roosendaal zag ik deze IC Brussel stam van zijn weekend rust te genieten.
Dit weekend zijn er minder stammen nodig dan normaal, omdat de ritten beginnen / eindigen in Breda.
Sinds kort is lok 2808 weer terug op het spoor en voorzien van nieuwe jasje.
Op de voorkant boven het nummer staat heel klein : de Feniks.

Fairly new B23-7 2808 and GP40 3164 at Goodman Street in Rochester, NY on February 18, 1978. I had been working for 2 and a half months at Gleasons, the company that has the twin smokestacks above the 2nd and 3rd cars. I was still driving my unreliable Vega and using the Graphlex camera. I bought my first new vehicle, a Chevy pickup in March, and bought my first SLR camera in April.
Small flock chasing insects at DV Wetlands just before sunset. Very hard to get a shot. This is far from perfect but it's always nice to get a hit in the few golden minutes available.
