I went out looking for a Barn Owl I believed might be in a nearby barn. This Great Horned Owl was found instead. He was kind enough to pose for me for a few minutes in this pile of discarded, old farm equipment. It would be highly unusual for a Barn Owl to be occupying the same space as a Great Horned Owl.
I may enjoy my abstracts and multiple exposure image making but my heart, photographically and spiritually, will always be in the epic reaches of the UK mountains. This one from earlier this year at Glyder Fawr in Snowdonia, North Wales. The ancient, thrusting frost shattered rocks almost primeval in stark contrast to the artificial constructs of our usual modern surrounds. The sense of drama, of theatre, of spectacle, the feeling of elation and achievement at the effort, the exhiliration and the sense of awe all making for an experience far, far beyond a mere photograph.
