Da der DGS59809 im Bahnhof Goslar dem Regionalverkehr Vorrang gewähren musste, konnte er noch ein zweites Mal fotografiert werden. Am BÜ Steinfeld rollt der Zug durch das Okertal in Richtung Vienenburg.
Since DGS59809 had to give priority to regional traffic at Goslar station, it could be photographed a second time. At Steinfeld station, the train rolls through the Oker valley towards Vienenburg.
An fünf Tagen in der Woche verkehrt der Stahl-/Schrottzug 48962 48963, welcher die VOEST in Linz mit den Autowerken in Dingolfing und Ingolstadt verbindet. Neben der CargoServ 1193 ist 193 250 meist vor dem Zug gespannt. Bei Ingling gelang ein Foto.
The first of CP's script heritage units to make it over the Moosehead is seen leading 250 east at Moosehead, crossing the East Outlet of Moosehead Lake. The last couple weeks CP has been sending some pretty nice consists of power over here, between pairs of action red SD40-2s, CMQ barns, and heritage SD70s.
Am Abend des 4.6.22 war V330.8 mit einem Sonderstahlzug im Vorharz unterwegs. Da dieser erst kurz vor 18Uhr ab Ilsenburg fuhr, konnte der BÜ Steinfeld bei Vienenburg einmal aus einer anderen Perspektive umgesetzt werden. Planmäßig verkehrt leider kein Güterzug im passenden Zeitfenster.
On the evening of 4.6.22, V330.8 was on its way with a special steel train in the Vorharz region. As this train left Ilsenburg shortly before 6pm, the Steinfeld railway crossing near Vienenburg could be seen from a different perspective. Unfortunately, there are no scheduled freight trains in the appropriate time slot.
Thanks to some brush cutting recently, the ledges at Tarratine have been opened back up, although there's one code line pole that needs to be leveled. That, combined with the new 250 schedule, have allowed for some "new" shots that weren't previously possible, outside of the rare severely off schedule train. AC44CWM 8129 is leading SD70ACU 7045 with a small train as they make an easy climb up the hill out of Tarratine,

Today's 250 with the military tribute unit leading passed by us at 17 around 08:30, just late enough for the sun to settle in and burn off the clouds. There have been only a handful of these rebuilds over the Moosehead thus far, and this is the first of the specially painted units. In tow were the usual pair of GE's and also a set of ballast train power (the good stuff), with 101 cars, the last of which being a CP plow. I was able to transform a well placed tree into a telephone pole to get the tree stand up for some more elevation. Luckily there is still some nice color hanging on in the area.

CP SD60-3 6308 with the CMQ 9020 and CMQ 9017 lead a short train east past the bog at MP 19 with Borestone mountain in the distance.
A very small snail (shell 12 mm) back-lit by strong sunshine on my colourful Phormium 'Jester' plant, shot with a Raynox DCR-250 mounted on the front of my macro lens.

I had initially wanted to try to photograph just a single eye of the snail glowing with the backlight, so needed the Raynox attachment - but this proved impossible, as the snail moved quickly enough to be out of the frame before I could get a good focus on the eye. So I had to pull back with the camera and capture the whole snail - I got lucky with this image as one of the eyes was nicely backlit, while the other eye was only visible as a shadow on the leaf so the emphasis is still on the single eye.
No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph.

Am 09.05.2020 brachte die HVLE mit 250 004 Baustoffe nach Greifswald. Am frühen Morgen erreichte der Zug als DGS 95476 aus Röderau den Bahnhof um dann zum Entladen in den Anschluss nach Greifswald-Ladebow zu fahren. Abends ging es wieder zurück in den Bahnhof Greifswald um von dort aus seine Fahrt als DGS 95454 nach Wustermark Rbf anzutreten. Hier ist der Zug auf seiner Rückfahrt von Ladebow nach Greifswald zu sehen.

Am 18 Juni 2021 ging es nach 2 Jahren endlich mal wieder nach Österreich. Zwar nur für eine Tagestour, aber das reicht für den Anfang erstmal. Ziel war die Passauerbahn zwischen Wels und Passau. Erster Stop war an einer Wiese in Wernstein am Inn. Die Wiese hatte der Bauer erst frisch mit Kalk bearbeitet, weshalb die Schuhe danach leicht weißlich aussahen. Dort angekommen, stand das Siganl bereits auf Fahrt. Also wurde schnell alles aufgebaut. Was ich aber nicht wusste war, dass dieses Signal ein Blocksignal ist und ich daran keine Zugfahrt aus Richtung Passau erkennen kann. Dennoch dauerte es nicht lange, bis sich der erste Zug blicken ließ. Zu meiner Freude war es ein schicker Alpenstaubsauger, in Form von ÖBB 1144 250 mit dem R 5913 aus Passau Hbf nach Linz Hbf. Eine sehr schöne Fotostelle mit dem alten Bauerhof im Hintergrund wie ich finde. In Wernstein kann man motivlich auch sehr schön variieren, was ich beim nächsten Besuch sicherlich auch mal machen werde. Dieses Mal war dafür aber keine Zeit, weil es weiter Richtung Wels gehen sollte. Die Fotos dazu kommen in den nächsten Tagen.

Le beau Philémon...
Belle rencontre hier à Angrignon, Philémon s'est pointé à cette belle cavité, une des rares à faire face au Nord. Habituellement, les cavités font davantage face au Sud, et dans une moindre mesure face à l'Est ou à l'Ouest. Cette dernière avait été découverte, habitée par ce même Philémon, au printemps 2019 par mon grand ami Robert Dupont qui nous a quitté il y a maintenant deux ans, le 27 janvier 2023. Tu accompagnes encore en pensée souvent mes tournées mon cher ami. Il s'agissait de l'une de ses découvertes qui le rendaient le plus heureux, puisque c'est grâce à celle-ci que nous avions ensemble trouvé le lieu de la nichée d'Odi et Philémon peu de temps après. À ce jour, il s'agit d'ailleurs de la seule nichée de ce couple dont nous avons été en mesure d'observer le déroulement. Il y avait bien longtemps que je ne l'avais pas observé à cette cavité, ce beau mâle. Lorsqu'il est visible, nous le retrouvons plutôt depuis plusieurs mois au no 7 dans l'arbre surnommé le condo. Sa femelle Odi se fait quant à elle très discrète depuis deux ans, se présentant plutôt rarement à ses cavités connues. Intriguantes ses visites tant espacées...

Spent the afternoon wandering through the Ogród Botaniczny (Botanical Gardens) admiring all of the beautiful bio-diversity. Amazing collection of plants, flowers and trees. Inspired by the unraveling fern fronds to look just a bit closer and discover the underlying beauty easily missed or overlooked. If you not yet been to the gardens..I recommend that you do. :)

what you are seeing is a macro of a yarrow plant (Achillea) taken with my macro lens. You discover so much beauty by going macro...for a flower that otherwise may look pale and uninteresting. I have had this plant in the yard for years.

Today was spent mostly in Neath/PortTalbot Hospital because my Neurologist had referred me for a specific kind of scan which involved injecting me with a radioactive isotope before scanning me with gamma rays. Afterwards we went to Aberafan Seafront where I captured this – the Kite Sculpture- I felt that the rays is in one way representative of my day.
