The Pont du Gard is one of the archeaological wonders of France, and it is a designated World Heritage site.
The three tiered aqueduct crosses the Gardon River, and at 169 feet high it is the tallest of all the Roman elevated aqueducts.
It is worth paying the extra for a guided tour as that way you get to walk along the water channel at the very top of the aqueduct which is quite an eye opener.
The sheer precision of the engineering is quite staggering. The bridge is part of an aqueduct that was originally 50Km in length, ending in Nimes. The drop over that 50Km was only 12 metres, an average gradient of only 24cms per kilometre or a quarter of a millimetre per metre - that's almost perfectly flat and yet it was enough for the water to flow to Nimes by gravity.
Beyond the bridge, through the arches you may be able to make out the ominous build up of cloud that was to turn into a right old thunderstorm later in the evening.

Birch Bracket Fungus / piptoporus betulinus. Morley, Derbyshire. 07/10/20.
'UNDERSIDE.'
A very impressive bracket fungus I found in early October growing out from a dead Silver Birch trunk. Not quite the largest I've ever come across (width of about 24cms), but certainly one of the most attractive with that thick, rounded, undulating margin.

Here we see an adult female Attacus atlas, the atlas moth or 'Cobra moth' to which it is sometimes referred thanks to it's cobra headed wingtips used as a defence against possible predators. It's Cantonese name translates as 'Snake's head moth'. A saturniids, or Saturniidae moth in the family Lepidoptera, it is the third largest species of moth in the world, with a wingspan up to 24cms or nine and a half inches.
Females are much larger than the males, and have thinner antenna, as well as different silver/white markings on the upper wings.

She was such a frisky girl.
Very bold, dramatic statement piece comprised of vintage tart tins/madeleine tins from the 40s and 50s. Inside each tin is a piece of a tin type, roughly cut and glued inside. They are of faces and hands on the top five, a couple on the madeleine tin and an older woman on the bottom. At the very bottom is a smoky chandelier crystal. Brass chain and lobster clasp finish the necklace off.
From the top of the tins to the bottom of the chandelier crystal measures 9.5inches/24cms.
The necklace measures 22.5inches/57.25cms.

Here I have used a lovely combination of fabrics to make my cushion, that I regard more of a collage than patchworking! I've then contrasted them with an adorable little apple green felt house, funky mushrooms and many pretty buttons! I have also given the house an owner- a very cute Russian Doll. I particularly love the red Scandinavian Folk art fabric......adorable!
My scented cushion is packed with lavender and hops. The smell is very powerful but also delightful. I have added a mixture of hops and lavender to this cushion for the very purpose to aid rest and relaxation. It would be perfect in your bedroom or it would keep your front room smelling fresh.
Some information you need to know-
I have made this scented cushion in a variety of gorgeous printed cotton fabrics and linen.
I have stitched a wadding inside the cushion to help keep the shape and so that it is comfortable when relaxing. It is also filled with good quality lavender and hops.
This cushion is a good size and measures approximately 30cms X 24cms (12inches X 9.5inches)

This is my lovely Matryoshka pleated bag with one large strap.
My beautiful bag is handmade by me- I am the creative person behind my shop! I have made my bag in a black cotton canvas fabric and a fun spotty green fabric. My bag features a Matryoshka or Russian Doll and is embellished with red and green buttons and matching trim.
As I have designed this bag myself my aim was to have something that is functional as well as being fun and unusual. I have incorporated a pleat into the front of the bag, made in a contrasting grass green spotty fabric Pleats make the bag nice and roomy while looking FAB.
I have added one long strap to this bag- this is so you can wear it over your body, making it comfortable and at the same time safe. The strap is attached by metal 'D-Rings' which add extra length, therefore it measures an approximate length of 132cms/52inches.
My bag measures approx 31cms/12inches at its widest part- which is the bottom. It is 32cms/12inches in length. It has an approximate opening off 24cms/9.5inches.
It fastens with a magnetic clasp ensuring that your bits and bobs are secure.
I have lined it with a beautiful Liberty of London printed cotton and added a simple slip pocket which will allow plenty of room for your mobile phone or lippy etc . I have also sewn a wadding inside to keep it plush.
Use my bag to carry around your favourite items, your cherished books, note pads and pens or to just look gorgeous!

This is a beautiful vintage hobnail milk glass lamp in excellent working condition. The glass is still shiny white with no chips or cracks. The metal does show a few marks as seen in the pictures but nothing that distracts from the loveliness of the lamp.

DESCRIPCION DEL PAISAJE
El panorama que existe responde a la presencia de varios cauces de alimentación como son la acequia o canal de conducción que trae las aguas desde el río Tahuando, cuyo caudal depende de la estación climática; en igual forma, apreciamos las vertientes de las quebradas de Manzana Huayco y Polo. Debido a la sedimentación y falta de canales permanentes de agua que mantengan su nivel, la pérdida de líquido es de 24cms por año. El paisaje natural lo conforman varias lomas y miradores localizadas hacia el costado sur occidente, las mismas que están erosionadas en su mayor parte. Por otro lado, el relieve que rodea a la laguna presenta ondulaciones con pendientes fuertes y escarpadas.
DESCRIPCION DE ORILLA
En las orillas se encuentran cultivos, frutales y en varios lugares plantas de totora. Además, en la parte este de la laguna se han construido sitios para recreación infantil.
