The Lahore Resolution (Qarardad-e-Lahore قرارداد لاھور), commonly known as the Pakistan Resolution (قرارداد پاکستان Qarardad-e-Pakistan).

In Pakistan this day marks the passing of the Lahore Resolution. ''Republic Day of Pakistan'' was first observed in 1956 when Pakistan officially became a Republic and shunned the former status of Dominion. The main events of this day include a full military parade and the awarding of honours at the Presidency (Presidential Palace) by the President.

Explore No.236 : #325

This year is the 40th anniversary of road transport company E.V.T.S. The haulage firm which is based in Poulton-le-Fylde near Blackpool was founded by Eric and Barbara Vallance in 1981.

In 2009 E.V.T.S. acquired shares in the Palletforce network of which it is a founder member.

E.V.T.S. are a familiar sight throughout the U.K. and Eire.

This DAF LF is just one of the fleet of over 30 vehicles ranging from 3.5 tonne vans to 44 tonne articulated trucks with a fleet of 40 trailers.

A back alley in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The multiple textures on the walls of these shophouses fascinate me!

During my visit noticed a large tortoise or turtle at the edge of the pond ... I am not sure if he should be there [any thoughts?]

Early this morning I purchased a Voigtlander 40mm F1.2 lens and because it is a manual focus lens it is relatively inexpensive but difficult to use.

I went to my local supplier with the intention of getting the Zeiss Batis 40mm but they were out of stock so I decided to consider the Sony 16-35mm GM but as the price was Euro 2600 I decided to consider the Sony 16-35mm F4 which cost Euro 1300. I was about to purchase the F4 but as an afterthought I decided to have a look at the Voigtlander 40mm F1.2 and as I was impressed I decided to buy especially as it cost less then Euro 1000.

Based on using it for about three hours I can say that at F1.2 I found it almost impossible to get sharp focus and I also noticed a degree of chromatic aberration [colour fringing] which was easy to remove Lightroom. At F22 I noticed an amazing amount of dust on my sensor and there were two especially large bits of lint or fluff.
