Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Pelts Blue' 22W50 Lawson Cypress G3- (Hinrich Kordes Nursery, Germany 1984) Large Lawson Cypress, Size at 10 years: 10x3ft., Foliage at first blue-grey, later dark blue-green, USDA Hardiness Zone 6, Michigan Bloom Month -, In Garden Bed G3 for 9.5 YEARS (MSU). Planted in 2013.
American Conifer Society: Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Pelt's Blue' is a very narrow, columnar tree from of Lawson cypress. It is similar to Ch. lawsoniana `Columnaris Glauca,' but with more intense deep-Blue foliage, arguably one of the best Blue conifers available in the nursery trade. Note that like 'Columnaris' and its derivatives, 'Pelt's Blue' is very prone to Phytophthera lateralis, a root-borne fungal plague. In areas where this problem is prevalent, always seek out specimens grafted onto disease-resistant (DR) understock.
After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 10 to 15 feet (3 - 5 m) tall and 28 to 26 inches (70 - 90 cm) wide, an annual growth rate of 12 to 18 inches (30 - 45 cm).
This cultivar originated 1984 at Hinrich Kordes Nursery, Bilsen Germany and introduced to the nursery trade by van Pelt's Nursery, Belgium. It is also seen listed under the names, 'Van Pelt's Blue' and 'AFF Van Pelt's Blue.'
Narrow conical medium-sized tree. May be subject to phytophthora root diseases. Needs to be high and dry. Winter damage, 2014. Planted in 2013. Well drained garden area. The one at MSU Hidden Lake Gardens had severe winter damage and was removed. After an iffy start, it seems to be doing good. AKA 'Van Pelt's Blue' ~56 inches tall in early 2019. Severe die back in 2019. Probably more like a zone 6 plant.

Picea pungens 'Stanley’s Gold' 22W50 Blue N5- (Stanley 1978) Colorado Blue Spruce, Size at 10 years: 4x3ft., golden green, USDA Hardiness Zone 3, Michigan Bloom Month -, In Garden Bed N5 for 32 MONTHS (Stanley). Planted in 2020.
acs; Picea pungens 'Stanley Gold' is a slow-growing, upright, pyramidal selection of Colorado spruce with golden foliage in winter. Spring growth is green which presents a very interesting color contrast early in the growing season. Many consider the plant's golden color to be superior to Picea pungens 'Aurea,' a much older selection.
After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 4.5 to 6 feet (1.5 - 2 m) tall and two-thirds as wide, an annual growth rate of 5 to 7 inches (10 - 12.5 cm).
This cultivar originated as a seedling selected in 1978 from a 5000-plant flat of Blue seedlings, by Larry Stanley, Stanley & Sons Nursery, Boring, Oregon, USA.
Stanley & Sons Nursery: A dwarf golden form of Colorado Spruce. Found at Stanley & Sons Nursery in 1978. Leaves are a light yellow with no burn. Makes a dwarf conical tree. Found in a seedling bed of 5000 blue green plants.

American Conifer Society: Picea abies 'Aarburg' is a truly bizarre, twisted, weeping wonder. Overall, its form is upright, but tends to meander before re-finding its way skyward. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 12 to 15 feet (4 - 5 m) tall, an annual growth rate of 15 to 18 inches (37 - 45 cm), sometimes upward, sometimes outward. Needles are typically dark-green for the species, but at 0.32 to 0.6 inch (8 - 15 mm), are somewhat shorter.
This cultivar originated as a seedling selected in 1965 by Andreas Haller Nursery of Aarburg, Switzerland. This plant makes a very strong statement in a large landscape or arboretum.
Has both spikes and drooping limbs. Very fast growing. Leaders are very strong and can grow 3 ft. per year. Leaves green on an irregular shaped weeper. Planted in 2013. A couple of branches have died off, will trim in 2022.

Taxus x media 'L.C. Bobbink' 22W50 Yew T1- (cuspidata x baccata) Anglojap Yew, Size at 10 years: 6x6ft., Non -flowering, dark green foliage. Seeds are poisonous, USDA Hardiness Zone 4-7, Michigan Bloom Month -, In Garden Bed T1 for 10.2 YEARS (Lowes,). Planted in 2012.
Chicago Botanic Garden: This cultivar matures into a rounded shape of 7' by 7'. Female plants produce red, fleshy, single-seeded fruit instead of cones (these are poisonous). This is a cross between Japanese yews (T. cuspidata); and English yews (T. baccata). It prefers average, medium moist, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade, but can tolerate a wide range of soils as long as drainage is good. It can also tolerate full shade and considerable pruning.
Big Box item. Not much info. It is rounded like most of the other yews that I have. Looks like the x media cross is called anglojap. Planted in 2012. Darker shade in winter.
