Details

I started shooting slides near the end of 1984, when I was 17 years old. I made it just in time to catch the final year of the Milwaukee Road. I finally now got a scanner to scan some slides. Thanks for some help from Dave Beach, with the scanner tips. I still need to figure it out, but here is one that came out halfway decent.

Here we see WB Milwaukee Road Train #228 At Davis Junction, on its way to Kansas City, on 7-21-1985. I believe I was with Jeff Cwan, Dave Fasules, and Leyton Hemmert.

Am 30.01.2021 fuhr 228 501-3 von Wedler & Franz Lokomotivdienstleistungen bei Mittelstille auf denn Weg nach Zella-Mehlis.

Auf dem Weg nach Koblenz passiert E10 228 der DBK Historische Bahn e.V. mit einem zeitgenössischen Zug Osterspai.

Wanderung: Bargis - Fidaz

Im Norden wird der Flimserstein begrenzt durch den Cassonsgrat (rätoromanisch Il fil), im Süden fällt das Plateau fast senkrecht ab zum Dorf Fidaz. Im Osten des Flimsersteins liegt ein Hochtal mit der Alp Bargis, im Westen die Alp Naraus. Das Plateau wird im Sommer im Bereich bis etwa 2300 Meter über Meer als Alpbetrieb bewirtschaftet.
