Im Tsitsikamma Nationalpark, Gardenroute. Heute Teil des Garden-Route-Nationalparks.
Der Park mit einer Fläche von 29.838 Hektar wurde 1964 eröffnet und erstreckte sich über fast 100 Kilometer entlang der Küste zwischen Kap St. Francis und Plettenberg Bay. Er umfasste nicht nur den ursprünglichen Urwald an Land, sondern auch einen 5,5 Kilometer breiten Streifen des küstennahen Meeres. Die Vegetation ist dort sehr üppig und vielfältig. Der dichte Wald mit seinen alten, bis zu 40 Meter hohen Bäumen ist einer der letzten Urwälder Südafrikas. Bemerkenswert sind hier vor allem die Yellowwood-Bäume (Breitblättrige Steineibe, Podocarpus latifolius). Aus den Tsitsikamma-Bergen fließen dank der hohen Niederschlagsmengen von jährlich bis zu 1200 mm viele Bäche und Flüsse dem Meer zu.

The park, with an area of 29,838 hectares, was opened in 1964 and extended for almost 100 kilometers along the coast between Cape St. Francis and Plettenberg Bay. It included not only the original primeval forest on land, but also a 5.5-kilometer-wide strip of the coastal sea. The vegetation there is very lush and diverse. The dense forest with its old trees up to 40 meters high is one of the last primeval forests in South Africa. The yellowwood trees (Podocarpus latifolius) are particularly noteworthy here. Thanks to the high annual rainfall of up to 1200 mm, many streams and rivers flow from the Tsitsikamma Mountains to the sea.

GM 60103 Hamburg-Waltershof Hansaport - Ziltendorf EKO
"Man sieht sich meistens mehr als einmal", hieß es am 13.10.2018 bei Dersenow. Ich war mal wieder an meine liebgewonnene "Berliner Schiene" gefahren. Es sollte ein erfolgreicher Samstag werden. Neben den Eurocitys, die nach der Zeitumstellung im Herbst/Winter, an anderen Fotostellen machbar sind als im Sommer, standen auch noch ein paar andere Programmpunkte auf dem Zettel. Am Abend sollte u.a. noch der mintgrüne Lübecker 628 201 vom BW Fest in Wittenberge zurückkehren. Aber keine 30min nach Ankunft an der Fotostelle auf der Feldwegbrücke stand dann erstmal der Ziltendorfer an. Dieser war wieder mit einer Cargo 193er-DT bespannt. Die vordere war eine der Loks, die mit der "Das ist grün."- Beklebung unterwegs sind. Die 193 357. Mir kam die Loknummer irgendwie so bekannt vor. Also mal eben im FLICKR geschaut und festgestellt, dass ich die Gute schonmal fotografiert hatte. Das war einige Wochen vorher in Klein Süstedt mit einem Containerzug. Da fuhr die frisch ausgelieferte Lok noch ohne Beklebung durch die Lande. Erst so kurz auf den Gleisen unterwegs und schon in zwei verschiedenen Varianten abgelichtet... :)

The Kermorvan lighthouse is located northwest of the village and port of Le Conquet, in Finistère.
It was built in granite stones in 1849 on a rock, at the tip of the Kermorvan peninsula, a listed site now belonging to the Conservatoire du littoral.
Connected to the earth by a granite bridge, having the shape of a square tower 20 m high and overlooking the sea from 22 m, it is now automated. However, originally, a housing for the guards was arranged on the ground floor then a house had been built adjoining its base.
The Kermorvan lighthouse is considered to be the westernmost lighthouse in France. It secures navigation between Ouessant and Le Conquet, of which it dominates the port from the other bank of the ria. Its range is 22 nautical miles or 40 km.
From 2022, it will appear on the route des Phares en Pays d'Iroise and will be partly open to the public.

To start, here's 16169 leading 22464 at Broxholme Gardens - the Olympian working the 1527 15C from Cherry Willingham School, and the MAN working the 1545 8 from Lincoln to Ermine.

Bunt, bunter, RE44... Abgesehen vom Grafiti am hinteren Wagenteil rollen auf dem RE44 nahezu wöchentlich andere Garnituren. Ende Februar waren es 2 DB Gebrauchtzug 425 und mittlerweile fährt NationalExpress mit 9442 auf der Linie umher. Man darf gespannt sein, was man noch so auf dem Fossa-Emscher-Express einsetzen wird.

This is a scan of an original kodachrome slide. It was scanned with an Epson Pro V750, and finished up with very minor post processing work in Photoshop. The default size of this image is 2000x1250 pixels.

The original image comes from my slide collection, amassed over the past 40+ years. They are a mixture of my own photographs, and those acquired through trading.
I began uploading scans into this Flickr photostream in 2017 to create an archive for the slides in my collection. Slides in particular suffer from their inability to be displayed easily and enjoyably, so this is just a place to make them more readily viewable.

Here's another one of the local McDonald's that hasn't yet been modernized. This particular one was built as a replacement for their first location in the area across the street, which was sadly demolished and replaced with an O'Reilly Auto Parts. I don't think I've ever been in this one, but since this is the same shopping center that had my childhood Toys R Us and Chuck E. Cheese's it's possible that my parents also took me here for Happy Meals!
I reckon that most of the interior (with the unusual green and purple seating) hasn't been altered in the past 20 years, aside from the counter area being modified to include McCafé. I always enjoyed how no two McDonald's used to look alike, so isn't is a shame that they're all being renovated into uniformity? Sometime next week I'll visit one, if not both, of the Williamsburg locations I don't have interior photos of yet. Let's just hope nothings been done since the last time I saw them!

Stagecoach North East's Sunderland-based 28006 (YN63 BXX), Scania K270UB/Enviro300NG, carrying its special "It's a gas!" livery, comprising of four different shades of blue as well as vinyls based on the Stagecoach "beach ball" logo as hot air balloons, and is pictured here on North Bridge Street, Sunderland, passing Alexander ALX300 bodied MAN 18.220LF 22464 (T464 BNL), whilst working service 16 to Red House North and 13 to Town End Farm respectively. 20/05/14
Seventeen of these gas-powered buses entered service in Sunderland on services 16 and 20 in February 2014. These vehicles - easily identifiable by their special "it's a gas" promotional livery - have proven to be very successful and Stagecoach North East submitted another order of twenty three further similar vehicles: this time to be deployed on services 3 and 13 in Sunderland. These vehicles have now started to arrive into the fleet, and as such, it's only a matter of time before the MAN 18.2220LF/Alexander ALX300s currently allocated to these routes are replaced.

The entry into service of ten further Scania K270UB/Alexander Dennis Enviro 300NG vehicles at Sunderland sees ten further MANs departing the fleet. It is believed that a total of nine Alexander ALX300 bodied MAN 18.220LFs are moving to Lincoln depot to replace high-floor Volvo Olympian vehicles, with three already having transferred down south. As ever, we can expect that a number will transfer around the region also, to allow other Stagecoach North East depots to get rid of their worst examples.
And the second one I needed was 22464, which was on the 1800 14 to North Hykeham in this photo, taken on Brant Road at the end of Larne Road.
This one was also transferred in from Sunderland depot... Well, I believe that makes all of the ex-SNE ones now - but there's a number of ex-Bluebird MAN's yet to enter service, so there's plenty to photograph yet!
