Anfang April holte 223 031 einen leeren Düngerzug vom Deggendorfer Hafen und konnte unmittelbar nach Überquerung der Donau abgelichtet werden.
Mit einem Kesselzug war 223 031 von Plattling nach Deggendorf Hafen unterwegs und konnte bei Pankofen abgelichtet werden.

Mit einem Holzzug nach Hengersberg war die kürzlich beklebte EVB 223 032 "Schwaiger Holz" bei Halbmeile unterwegs.
223 065 hat mit Alex 79860 nach München den vielseitig umsetzbaren und daher auch ziemlich bekannten Bahnhof Nabburg passiert und rollt nun weiter direkt entlang der Naab durch die spätherbstliche Landschaft.
Die neu lackierten Smartrail 111 polarisieren unter den Eisenbahnfreunden ziemlich. Die ozeanblau/beige lackierte 111 223 ist hier mit einem Sandzug am Bü Vogl auf dem Weg nach Linz zu sehen.
Mit 30 minütiger Verspätung rollte 223 072 mit drei Alex-Wagen zwischen Röthenbach und Oberstaufen seinem Ziel München entgegen.

Rund um Nabburg lässt sich für Fotos von der Strecke Schwandorf - Weiden an verschiedenen Stellen auch immer mal wieder die Naab mit ins Bild integrieren. 223 065 hat am 17.07.2022 mit Alex 79873 (München - Marktredwitz) vor wenigen Minuten den Bahnhof Nabburg durchfahren und rollt nun bei Haindorf entlang der Naab weiter nordwärts. Hoher Bewuchs am Bahndamm erforderte den Einsatz des Hochstativs, um überhaupt noch einen freien Blick auf die Strecke zu bekommen.
Mit dem Hackschnitzelzug aus Wiesau war 223 103 und die kalt mitgeschleppte 193 728 "Luchs" hier bei Zeitlarn nach Regensburg unterwegs.
Seit kurzem sind an den Alex-Zügen auch zwei BRLL 223 anzutreffen. Während 223 015 bereits mit Alex-Logos versehen wurde, verkehrt 223 001 noch im Originalzustand von Beacon Rail. Mit drei Wagen konnte ich den dunkelblauen Eurorunner auf seiner Fahrt von Lindau nach München nahe Oberstaufen ablichten.
Bei Heimhofen wurde ein ALX nach Lindau erwartet, der dann mit ordentlicher Verspätung mit dem "Servus-Ticket" Hercules 223 069 an der Spitze angefahren kam.
Bei Himmelhartha rollt 223 053 mit ihrem RE6 (Chemnitz Hbf - Leipzig Hbf) durch die hüglige Landschaft Mittelsachsens.

Der an der Strecke Weiden - Schwandorf gelegene Bahnhof Nabburg bietet zahlreiche Fotomöglichkeiten aufgrund seiner alten Infrastruktur inklusive Formsignalen und dem dahinter auf einem Hügel liegenden Ortskern. Mit dem Hochstativ lässt sich dieser Blick auf den Ort zusammen mit südwärts fahrenden Zügen einfangen. 223 081 kam passend mit Alex 79860 von Hof nach München vorbei.

Ein weiteres Bild von 223 001 gelang am Weiher nahe Ruderatshofen, hier mit weiteren drei ALX Wagen aus Oberstdorf.
Bei Neustadt an der Waldnaab steht noch eine alte Rundbogenbrücke, die sicherlich im Zuge der Elektrifizierung der Strecke abgerissen wird. An diesem Sommertag fuhr die 223 071 mit ihrem ALEX in Richtung Schwandorf.
Mit einem von der Passauerbahn umgeleiteten Containerzug war die ELL/WLC 193 223 hier im Abendlicht bei Breitenfurt auf dem Weg nach Hamburg zu sehen.
Man erwartet einen Desiro und auf einmal kommt ein Fotograf nach dem anderen und auf einmal fährt ein Holzzug an dir vobei. Glück muss man haben!
Der private Güterverkehr zwischen Plattling und Deggendorf bzw Hengersberg ist in fester Hand von EVB. 223 031 ist hier mit einem Kesselzug vom Deggendorfer Hafen nach Plattling unterwegs, wo HSL den Zug weiter beförderte.
Mit einem ALEX war die 223 061 bei Nabburg auf dem Weg nach Regensburg - dort übernimmt eine 183 den Zug und bringt ihn nach München Hbf.

Virginia City, Montana
In 1863, life could not have been very easy in Virginia City, Montana, but when gold was discovered in Alder Gulch the lure of new found wealth brought as many as 10,000 folks in to participate in their share of the wealth. They came from far and wide, and it seemed no distance was too far to travel! And Virginia City became the center of one of America's richest gold mining areas. "The mining districts of Alder Gulch produced and estimated $50 million in gold, although some historians believe that number is too low, and place the total value at around $150 million." Make shift housing was built by the hundreds, and were barely enough to keep one dry in the summer, and warm in the winter, but they became home for the most hardy. And along with those who worked the rivers and streams and the mines lusting for their share of the windfall there came the bandits and the highwaymen who chose the less legal and less physical way to garner "their share of the wealth." Stagecoach robberies were common, and the risk was high for the travelers who chose that means of transportation, often with their pockets and bags bulging with the newly found precious metal. Fights, brawls, lootings, and even murders were common, and it finally took a dedicated group of vigilantes to quell the crime rate. And when the suspected criminals and thieves were found and captured there'd often be a short path to the gallows with no trial or lawyers to intervene.
Mining and exploration in Virginia City remained somewhat active for nearly a century after the initial find, but over time the yields became less and less. With time, the once booming area population of nearly 10,000 dwindled to what it is today. As of the 2021 count, the population of Virginia City had shrunk to 223 people. And with those few remaining folks lies the remnants and machines and surviving buildings from those boom times. Albeit considered still an active city, most today would considered it a ghost town, and by most standards, it is just that.
