Never thought I'd be seeing this again, an original Arriva liveried Dart in Llandudno and especially one treading the ground of the old No.73. It's almost five exact years since MPDs became the booked traction on the route too. Five years on and the circular service is now the No.26. X221 ANC (2221) works the Llandudno local on the outskirts of the town. This bus transferred from the North West a couple of months previously but this must surely be its first day working in and out of Llandudno.

Since this past Monday, all VIA Rail and CN trains have been taking a new right-of-way between St-Henri and Turcot West In Montreal. A long time in coming, this new right-of-way was necessitated by the ongoing reconstruction of the Turcot interchange and nearby connecting highways. Here CN 120 with CN 8812, CN 5480, CN 2121 & DPU CN 2221 take the north track of the new right-of-way during a brief period of sunshine.

Saor Patrol

Leval (gelegen aan lijn 108 tussen Haine St. Pierre en Binche) bezocht ik voor het eerst nog niet eens verschrikkelijk lang geleden tijdens een TSP-rit. De aansluitende lijn naar de elektriciteitscentrale was toen net gesloten, de lijn was nog dubbelsporig, het station in redelijke staat en alle sporen lagen er nog. Toen ik er op 5 mei 2008 terugkeerde voor de piekuurtrein uit Brussel naar Binche, was het dus wel even schrikken. De lijn was op enkelspoor gebracht, een nieuw perron had het oude vervangen en het oude stationsgebouw, perrons en goederenloods waren sterk vervallen. Alle andere sporen waren uitgebroken. NMBS 2221 passeerde deze vergane glorie met zijn sleep M4-rijtuigen voor de laatste paar kilometer naar Binche.
