Mit dem "Wackershuttle" hat die 217 014 zusammen mit einer Schwester vor wenigen Minuten den Bahnhof Tüßling durchfahren und ist hier auf dem Weg nach Burghausen zu sehen.
Auch längst vorbei sind die Zeiten der Baureihe 217 rund um Mühldorf. An diesem Sommermorgen waren diese beiden 217 mit dem "Wackershuttle" zügig im Bahnhof Tüßling zu sehen.

A sucker hole of sunlight greets the head end of Westbound NS 217, with a pair of BNSF SD75’s on point, as they pass the Matewan Depot Replica in Matewan, WV on the Pocahontas District.
What’s left of the ex-Santa Fe SD75’s are primarily used in local service and assigned service to the the trash trains in and out of Roosevelt, Washington, so these are very out of place.

TPR 217 shuffles tanks for Poist across Cold Mill Rd. 217 is a former Cambria & Indiana unit, which has seen most Sparrows Point for most of it’s life. Though much of Sparrows Point is annihilated, there is hope for a new EAF mill inside the property. Perhaps 217 will see its same purpose as it did a decade ago.

A very breezy day today with me having to wait in for a workman to arrive. This is or was a White Gazania growing in my garden.
It aint much to look at, but this was one of the last days of the Lehigh Valley that I ever saw. It was one of the last days before April 1, 1976, also known as "C" Day. I was not able to ride my bike down to the Junction on March 31 due to the rainy weather, but I do recall listening to the last LV trains blowing for the crossings on that day. This was either March 29 or 30. Hard to believe that 45 years have passed. In this view the local is on the Rochester Branch and is blocking Plains Road at Rochester Junction as it switches cars in the small yard. The engineer in the 217 gave us rides while they switched, and I have some pics taken from inside the cab that will get posted some day.

217 002 und 212 249 waren am 20.10.2013 mit einem umgeleiteten Güterzug von München über Mühldorf nach Salzburg unterwegs, am Esig Weidenbach wurden sie bildlich festgehalten.
Mittlerweile in Händen von Captrain ist der bekannte Müllzug von Braunschweig nach Staßfurt. Mit fast zwei Stunden Verspätung wartet 217 002 in Brunschweig Nordkurve auf die Weiterfahrt.
