Heathrow memories - back to the 80s 😎 a bit of an Air Algérie double-act going on, with this 727 departing on the booked passenger flight AH2731 to Algiers, closely followed by one of their two cargo convertible 737s 7T-VEE (see accompanying photo uploaded).
7T-VEP was one of eleven Boeing 727-200s that Air Algérie had in service by 1985, being delivered back in 1976, and is seen here in the revised 1980s livery. The 727s were far less frequently used into Heathrow than the 737s, and made a welcome change at the time.
So over a relatively short period, one June afternoon in 1985, I shot 24 frames and managed to capture this huge variety of aircraft and airlines:

7T-VEP 'Monts du Tessala' c/n 21284 - Boeing 727-2D6 was delivered new to Air Algérie in Nov 1976. The aircraft flew with the airline for an impressive 29 years before being withdrawn and stored in 2005.
Air Algérie operated their first jet service with a Caravelle from Algiers to Paris in January 1960. The Algerian Government took over the airline in 1972, and the jet fleet was modernised in the 1970s with the purchase of Boeing 727s and 737s.
Air Algérie only retired its last Boeing 727 in 2004 - together with the Boeing 737s, they had accounted for the majority of business for the airline since their introduction in the early 1970s. The fleet was modernised with new-build Airbuses.
The film
From around 1983-84 I largely stopped using Kodachrome slide film in favour of the cheaper option of colour print film of various brands and qualities! On this occasion, I was using Kodak CP-100 film. The quality doesn't compare very well with Kodachrome, but cash was tight in them there days 😅
Taken with a Soviet made Zenith TTL camera and 300mm lens. From an original negative, scanned with minimal digital adjustment.

DGS 69643 Hamburg Süd - Soltau (Han)
Am Morgen des 9. Mai 2025 wollte ich mir mal den Schattenwurf zum Sonnenstand und den aktuellen Stand der Bauarbeiten an der Westumfahrung des Rangierbahnhofes Maschen ansehen. Ich hatte im Frühjahr ein Bild von der Nachmittagsseite gesehen, welches mich schlimmes befürchten ließ. Man hat Anfang des Jahres genau vor des Stellwerksgebäude bzw. in die Mitte der Wendemöglichkeit vor der Personalunterführung ein neues Schalthäuschen gebaut. Ich hatte da so meine Befürchtungen, dass dieses sich genau hinter dem Auslösepunkt von der Innenseite der Kurve befindet. Wie im obigen Bild zu sehen ist, ist dies genau der Fall. Man hatte es also wieder geschafft und ein weitere Fotostelle im Hamburger Raum wurde verunstaltet. Ich habe einige Blickwinkel ausprobiert und bin zu dem Schluss gekommen, dass Züge, wo die E-Lok den vorderen Stromabnehmer gehoben hat, noch ganz gut umzusetzen sind. Bei hinten gehoben Pantograph hängt dieser leider völlig im Schalthaus, wenn man nicht mit totalem Weitwinkel fotografieren möchte. Diesellokomotiven sind natürlich auch noch ganz gut umsetzbar, wie im obigen Foto zu sehen ist. Dieses zeigt den regelmäßig von Hamburg Süd nach Soltau verkehrenden EVB-Logistik-Containerzug mit dem EuroRunner 223 034. Die Lok fehlte mir in der aktuellen Lackierung noch in der Sammlung. Im alten EVB-Design ist mir der ER20 mehrfach vor den damaligen Kesselzüge von Hamburg Hohe Schaar nach Brakel vor die Linse gefahren. Insgesamt konnte ich während des Aufenthalts acht Güterzüge auf der Umfahrung fotografieren. Leider spielte der Störungsteufel erneut sein Unwesen, sodass zumindest zwei weitere Güterzüge durch den Rbf geleitet wurden und ein gewisse Standzeit in einem der Ausweichgleise hatten. Ziemlich zeitgleich mit Beendigung der Störung an der KBS 110 im Bereich Deutsch Evern wurde dann erneut eine Fahrstraße durch die Hälfte des Rangierbahnhofes gestellt. Abzweigend am Stellwerk und somit nicht fotografierbar rollte die schwarze EBS 185.3 (ex DB Cargo) mit einem Getreidezug von AHOS kommend vorbei...

From a collection of some 500 Boeing slides that I've had scanned from my archives. Hope they will provide some enjoyment and nostalgia from a bygone age.

Le Flexity Be 6/8 4001, premier des 70 Flexity Zürich commandés par les VBZ, est arrivé à Zürich par camion le 13 novembre 2019 en provenance de l'usine Bombardier de Wien (A).
Le 15 novembre 2019 il a été présenté à la presse et aux invités lors d'une cérémonie spéciale.
Sa mise en service commercial est prévue pour le début de l'été 2020.
Neuf ou dix Flexity devraient être disponibles en décembre 2020 pour rétablir l'horaire normal sans restrictions.
La motrice effectue une boucle autour de l'atelier de la voie pour venir se présenter.
[Update 2020-10]: La première motrice Flexity, la Be 6/8 4001, est entrée en service commercial le 15 octobre 2020.

This is a scan of an original kodachrome slide. It was scanned with an Epson Pro V750, and finished up with very minor post processing work in Photoshop. The default size of this image is 2000x1250 pixels.

The original comes from my own slide collection, which contains both my own photos and those acquired over the past forty or so years collecting.
I began uploading photos into this Flickr photostream to create a home for the slides that have been part of my collection. They deserve to be enjoyed by the aircraft enthusiast community as a whole rather than being tucked away in boxes and binders. Think of it like an old time aircraft slide show but for the 21st century.

- Khá lâu sau “Những chiếc lá thời gian” chị mới quay lại với điện ảnh. Điều gì khiến chị tham gia đóng “Tiếng dương cầm trên biển”?
- Khi quyết định nhận lời tham gia phim, tôi muốn sự trở lại của mình là một cái gì đó gây ấn tượng với khán giả. Vì thế, tôi đã xem kịch bản rất kỹ và hoàn toàn bị chinh phục bởi Tiếng dương cầm trên biển. Đây là bộ phim truyền hình dài 30 tập do nhà văn Nguyễn Quang Lập viết, xoay quang câu chuyện tình tay ba nhiều kịch tính. Tôi, siêu mẫu Lan Hương và diễn viên Minh Tiệp sẽ đảm nhận vai chính trong phim. Lan Hương vào vai cô gái say mê anh chàng điển trai do Minh Tiệp thủ vai, nhưng anh lại chỉ thích cô gái dịu dàng do tôi đảm nhận. Vì thế, nhân vật của tôi phải chịu đủ mọi chèn ép, cuối cùng mới phát hiện ra tôi là em gái đã thất lạc từ lâu của anh Minh Tiệp. Tôi tin rằng khán giả cũng sẽ yêu thích bộ phim này.
- Là diễn viên nghiệp dư nhưng lại đảm nhận vai nữ chính, chị gặp những khó khăn gì?
- Cho dù chưa phải là một diễn viên chuyên nghiệp nhưng khi nhận lời tham gia bất cứ lĩnh vực nào, tôi cũng sẽ bỏ hết tâm sức vào đó để làm tốt nhất vai trò của mình. Một khi đạo diễn và nhà sản xuất chọn tôi đảm nhận vai nữ chính, họ phải có niềm tin vào khả năng của tôi. Mỗi ngày đều có những thử thách mới, con người ta hoàn thiện mình khi vươn lên chinh phục những đỉnh cao. Tôi tin sẽ làm tốt vai diễn của mình.

- Đóng phim là dịp đọ sắc cùng siêu mẫu Lan Hương, chị chuẩn bị thế nào cho điều này?
- Tôi không cho đây là sân đấu để đọ sắc cùng ai cả. Điều quan trọng nhất với hai chúng tôi là làm thế nào để diễn tốt vai trò của mình và để lại ấn tượng trong lòng khán giả.
- “Gái một con trông mòn con mắt”. Hiện tại chị cảm thấy dung nhan mình có gì khác so với thời con gái?
- Tôi không thường tự nhận xét về mình mà lắng nghe những lời nhận xét của mọi người chung quanh để thật khách quan. Có người thấy vẻ mặn mà của cô gái một con thật quyến rũ, nhưng có người lại thấy thích vẻ đẹp con gái ngây thơ, hồn nhiên hơn. Cái đó tùy vào gu của người đánh giá.
Riêng tôi vẫn tự tin vào ánh mắt và nụ cười của mình. Nhiều người cho rằng đôi mắt của tôi đượm buồn, nhưng chính tôi lại thấy nó đã thu hút sự chú ý của mọi người.

- Bận mải công việc kinh doanh và chăm sóc con trai nhỏ, chị sắp xếp thời gian thế nào?
- Tôi tranh thủ mọi khoảnh khắc ngoài công việc để ở bên con trai. Khi tôi đi quay, bé An Nam sẽ ở nhà với ba Dũng và người trông trẻ. Lịch quay được báo sớm nên tôi khá chủ động trong mọi chuyện. An Nam ngoan và tự giác nên mẹ cũng yên tâm lắm.
- Thời gian qua, nhiều tin đồn xoay quanh cuộc sống của chị và Quang Dũng. Nhiều người khẳng định mối quan hệ của hai người đã “cỏ xót xa đưa”. Nguyên nhân nào khiến chị và Quang Dũng lựa chọn sự im lặng?
- Có người từng nói với tôi một câu mà tôi vô cùng tâm đắc: "Im lặng là vàng". Tôi thấy cứ để nó như thế đi.
Nhiều khi mình không muốn để dư luận làm ảnh hưởng đến mình, nhưng không thể phủ nhận là có lúc nó khiến mình bị stress. Những khi như vậy, rất cần những người thân thiết với mình, hiểu mình để tâm sự.
- Chị cũng chia sẻ muốn có thêm một bé gái. Bận mải công việc như thế, dự định sinh con của chị sẽ hoãn đến bao giờ?
- Tuổi tôi còn trẻ, cơ hội đang rất nhiều trước mắt, có lẽ tôi sẽ lùi dự định sinh con lại một thời gian.
