October 17th, rain all day - 10C - still sitting out for 5:00 wine time - bundled up. Almost 6:00 pm - still raining and the sun decided to make an appearance and graced us with this rainbow. Love sitting out before dinner.
Chili pepper season! This is the end of the pepper preserving for 2022. Lots have been dehydrated, some turned into hot sauce, some frozen, and these will dry and get crushed, mixed with garlic and other seasonings. I will cut back next year on how many hot peppers I plant - I think...
The Irabia Swamp is located in the center of the Irati Forest, one of the largest beech-fir trees in Europe that in autumn dresses in spectacular colors, passing through the entire range of ocher, yellow and red that nature offers us . A symphony of impressive color ... maybe that's the word COLOR. Also silence, pure air, mystery ... And a good place to stop for a while is the Irabia reservoir, around which at least a couple of the pathways that can be traversed in this place run.
It is a good place because here, leaving the forest and its mysteries, we get a greater perspective of this paradise, which is also reflected in the still waters.

It occupies an area of 128 Ha and can retain a volume of 13.5 Hm3. This implies a regulation capacity in the Irati river of 81.5 Hm3, which represents 23% of the annual contribution to the Arive capacity. Its works ended in 1947 and its destination was the production of electrical energy.
