As the mist was thick in the valley, I was driving to several locations and found this tree along the road. While I hurried to find a safe parking place and set up the shot, I found myself flooded in golden morning light.

With fog predictions from the Met office all weekend I decided to head down to the Peak District to capture some late autumnal images. Woodland isn’t really my bag but just lately I’ve been immersing myself in forests and sticking it out. The colours, even now, are still so vibrant in places and the fog yesterday helped with photographing this scene at Padley Gorge.

Let me know your thoughts below, thanks for looking!

Really enjoyed shooting in the dark, the late night fog on Saturday night really helped me deliver a spooky image! 💀

Archaic (II) is another image from Sunday’s woodland wander in the Peak District. I spotted this scene after I had packed my camera away and was on my way back to the car, interestingly I grabbed my phone for an Instagram stories image but was inspired by the incredible light and mist still lingering - it was time to set up the camera, again and I’m so glad I did.

Nature has had a chance to come back in many ways during these virus filled days. I have seen growth every where which was never before to be seen thanks to man and machine. Give nature a chance and it produces beauty all on its own.

Was amazed that Nigel Danson picked this out from his #2020ND Instagram post. Being complimented from one of my Favorite Photographers and YouTuber is a real inspiration and honor.

On this particular day I met up with my good friend Philip to take some autumn photography in the Peak District. Whilst I did take some photographs of silver birch trees in the woodland, this shot was probably my favourite of the day.

It reminds me of a photo you’d see taken from Zion National Park; typically the colours and textures coming from the quarry walls. Small trees grow out of the earth through small cracks in the walls here, I really liked the shape of this one and the colours were really popping!

Photo from a magical winter photography trip to Oviksfjällen. This forest birch catch the first ray of light and make it glow. I have put togheter my story with a few photos from the trip and some tips how I think about forest photograpy on my website. Link in profile.
