My #fancyforestquilt is finished!! It's been labeled, washed and dried and all ready for gifting this weekend. 💕🐰🐻🎉🎂 My beloved daughter is going to be thrilled with her rainbow colored quilt full of critters for her birthday celebration. Thank you all for your support and encouragement in the making of this quilt....it means so much! 🌈💕😘🌈

And I used Kona in Mushroom as the background fabric....a few have asked in the past. ✔️ .

They're finished! See that little ball of yarn between my feet? That's all I had left from a 400m ball. Yarn is West Yorkshire Spinners signature 4ply, pattern is a mix of KnitFreedom toe up (with a different cast on), Regia cuff down (for sizing), a Fleegle heel, 73 rounds of 2x2 rib for a chunky fold-over cuff (and to use up as much of the yarn as possible!) and Jeny's surprisingly stretchy cast off.

They're my first socks, will they be my last? (I can't wear wool next to my skin so these are 'over my normal socks' house socks for the 'I'm not putting the heating on but my (Raynaud's) feet are freezing' winter days and evenings.) This is my sixth and final finish for Q2 of the #2016fal!

Finally got some pics of my latest quilt finish from almost a week ago. This was one of those quilts I was so ready to be done with. I'm pretty proud of how the binding came out on this one. Did it a little different & all the corners came out great. :)

Got it finished today. 🎉 There's definitely things I'll do different when I make mine but it went together really well...no broken needles. 2nd finish for the 2nd quarter @finishalong.

Next up on my hitlist are two Lola pouches (one small, one big) from these two shwe shwe indigo FQs bought at a local quilt show about seven years ago from The African Fabric Store. I don't have enough to make two plain pouches so thought I'd do the contrast bottoms in some pieces of AGF 'Indie' (I think) from my scrap boxes. What do think? Keep trying or go with these? (Not sure I have enough to do the bindings in the AGF, I hope to but will have to see.) #2016fal #IshouldberestingbutImtootired #yesthatsathing

It went all the way to the last day of the month, but I managed to finish my April #onemonthlygoal! The #clamshell quilt is quilted, bound, and labelled! It's also one of my second quarter goals for the #2016fal, so that one gets checked off as well :) #falQ2plaidnuthatch

My May #onemonthlygoal is complete. The binding is piped and machine sewn. It should have been a quick goal to achieve, but May is yard clean-up and planting month in this neck of the woods, so finishing the binding kept getting pushed aside in favour of playing in the dirt!

The pattern is by Barbara Henning, and is in the 5th book of her strips series. I did this together with some quilting friends as a mystery - using up the strip set packages we had received as Christmas gifts.

This was my February OMG goal - to get this piece finished to the point of quilting.

My third finish of the quarter! A small #Lolapouch (pattern by @sotakhandmade), nestling in front of the (winter-flowering!) pansies and the nasturtiums which have suddenly bloomed into life in the past couple of days.

Fabrics are shwe shwe from The African Fabric Store (many years ago) and @artgalleryfabrics Indie. Thread Aurifil 50wt in 2130 (pale yellow), 1133 (orange) and 2780 (blue).

It's finished! This is my wearable toile #Katedress (pattern by Sew Me Something) and I'm going to wear it for a bit before shopping for fabric for the next one (the pincord I have doesn't count because that will be a pinafore version of this) in case I don't like the feel of the 100% cotton fabric and want something a bit softer. It feels fine when I try it on, but you never really know until you've worn it for a few hours, do you? There will be another one, though!

Fabric and bias binding was around £4/m from a local shop. Some alterations were made when tracing the pattern, but I'll talk about those in a blog post. This is my first finish from my Q3 #2016fal list #FALQ3Archiewonderdog Next up: Archie's collar.

Christmas Grand Illusion, a pattern by Bonnie Hunter (Quiltville's Quips and Snips) and 2016 Q3 finish-a-long. Blogged at Lisa in Port Hope here.

It's finished! There's a large scottie dog panel on the top and a skinny strip of them (left from another project and measuring about 0.25" x 4" (finished) - I can't bear to throw any of this fabric away!) on the bottom. It measures about 3" x 4.5" x 1.5" and is all hand stitched using #EPP (Not, I repeat not, my favourite hand sewing technique. Quite the opposite in fact!) Made to say thank you to someone who has done a good quilty deed... This is my first finish for quarter two of the #2016fal @finishalong.

This is quilt number 2 for my Q3 goals (2016FAL).

Another (my fifth) #2016fal Q3 finish! Mam needed two cushions for her newly-decorated front room and she chose this lovely coral fabric with a strip of her new curtain fabric to tie things together.

Finished just at the right time because Mam's picking up the curtains today! (She's in charge of making two cushion pads, I borrowed one from one of my cushions for the photo.)
