Yesterday, I received word of an extra MNPRV due into Portola shortly before sunrise. However, what made this train enough of interest to make the hike to the Feather River Canyon was that the power was all SD70Ms. If this was the early 2000s it would be a completely normal day, but in a time where basically every train requires a DPU, this has made SD70Ms almost useless in the Sierras. Since I was not going to turn down the opportunity to shoot a 70M leading in the FRC, I followed it all the way through the canyon.
Shortly before going to bed for the night, I was notified the train was scheduled out of Portola around 05:00. Despite not wanting to get up extremely early, I figured that since I was already going after it, I may as well. However, one thing to know about shooting the old WP is that nothing ever runs on schedule, so I knew that the chances of it keeping the departure time was low, but in the case of this train probably only off by a couple hours. Pulling into town a little after 05:30, they were already in Portola, and the inbound crew was tying the train up. As predicted, the departure time wasn't too far off from when it would actually depart. Just before 07:15, the canyon crew arrived, and 45 minutes later the chase was on.
Overall, following the train was very easy. Up until Quincy Junction, the manifest was moving along somewhat slowly, but not too slow. After missing the train at Williams Loop because I decided not to trust my gut about playing it safe with the shot, I headed to Quincy Junction where as mentioned the train would end up stopping. Turns out, there was a lot of maintenance going on in the canyon (when is there not), and the train would have to wait for MOW to clear them. Once cleared and an escort was ready, the train continued west. I raced over to Keddie, and after pulling up the train was very clearly right around the corner. I still had to swap lenses, and by the time I got to the shot the lead motor was already on the bridge, but I made it. Ultimately, I would follow the train all the way down the canyon, and into the valley, until finally reaching Roseville.

Back in the 2000s, Getsemani was considered a dangerous area, but its historic streets have transformed over time into the city’s official backpacker quarter. Hip hostels and artsy cafés have popped up to serve those who are not traveling on the luxury budget that the Old City demands. Getsemani also now has its own raging nightlife scene, much of it fuelled by its homegrown but African-rooted Champeta music, and houses some of the city’s top restaurants.

Here's a view of the completed front gable section, and signage of the Horn Lake Walmart Neighborhood Market. Completed that is, unless they've worked on blending in those scars from where the old decorative lights were on the building! For comparison purposes, here's a 2007 Google Street View of the Horn Lake location, sporting it's original look. A recent drive by the Neighborhood Market in east Memphis on Ridgeway near 385 revealed it now has this same remodel of the same façade as well.

Perhaps the exact moment Lancias unfair fate was decided, the Thesis was a huge backfire for Fiat, and its failure (along with, to a degree, the C6) was probably, for now, the last hurrah for a bonkers styled executive car by a non major player in that sector. The Thesis by all accounts is a decent car, and actually looks superbly plush inside, but the masses were unconvinced and this sold worse than the equally ill fated Tagora.

We're still in the back of the store for this view, where I see a rug hung up on the side of the fitting rooms box (right part of photo) is advertising those items at 60% to 75% off. Explains why I was seeing those rugs being loaded up and carted off quite frequently while we were there!

people don’t really post on here much, but i got inspired from old posts dating back to the 2000s of teens my age posting pictures. so i wanted to keep that tradition especially since it looks like it was so freeing. what i’ll be posting won’t be professional by any means. im just having fun
I know I promised grand opening photos from the Hernando Kroger, which I hope to have ready for posting by Monday, but first I have some odds and ends (and a couple of new developments) to take care of, as things definitely seem to be wrapping up as far as construction and demolition goes. As seen here, all the old curbing and asphalt had been removed at the site of the old fuel center by January 29, 2017.
