I am exhausted. So I wanted to get my picture out of the way as I embark on another 4 segment Transamerica mileage run today. This will hopefully be my last flights of 2014. Been in the sky enough this year.

47361 'Wilton Endeavour' approaches Eastleigh with 4O18 Lawley Street to Southampton Maritime Freightliner.

Taken a few minutes after my previous frame ( flic.kr/p/HVp7k2 ), this was the second of a large number of freights that operated through Eastleigh on Tuesday mornings in 1995.

I don't normally post multiple images from the same location but I came across this sequence from 1995 and decided to share. In the succeeding 23 years many freight flows have been lost to rail. However, ironically this working is still operating under the same headcode in 2017.

In early 1995 Freightliner were about to be spun off into a separate but still publicly owned, becoming Freightliner (1995) Ltd.

At the time they were considered to have received a poor deal with locomotives, receiving a battered set of the then ubiquitous class 47s. Perhaps as a consequence, hire-ins from other operators were commonplace in following years as well as the re-engineering programme that lead to the development of the class 57.

Reason #2 why I love my place:

My view when I come home.

* Whistler is a strange place clearly manufactured for the winter Olympics in 2010 it has the feel of an upscale retail park . It was beautifully manicured and I guess well planned I was reminded of the movie “The Truman show “ . I would like to know where they put all the workers are they lodged in caves underground .

Nevertheless I am glad we visited the town . If for no other reason than to experience the Peak 2 Peak Gondola from Whistler mountain to Blackcomb it is one hell of a ride. It was built in 2008 at the cost of 51 million Canadian dollars and I can see where the money went .

To use the peak 2 peak you have to take a gondola either up Whistler or Blackcomb mountain which takes about 25 minutes . You then take the Peak 2 Peak that crosses above the Fitzsimmons Creek valley between the two mountains and it feels like you are hanging in space .

A few facts about the peak 2 peak . It is the worlds highest lift of its type , it's the worlds longest unsupported span . The total length is 2.7 miles of which 1.8 is unsupported by any towers the highest point is 1427 feet above the valley bottom .

The weather was not good really but it was rather exciting to move through the clouds and mist and every so often it would clear and you had great views of the valley below . Perhaps the weather of the time of the year meant it was fairly quiet we shared a cabin with two Canadian women who rode it regularly and clearly loved it . On the return trip we were on our own, what was odd was how quiet the machine was it was very peaceful and dreamlike slowly drifting across space . I am not one for getting excited by engineering but this was an exception the design of this thing was clearly of a very high quality . I could have happily travelled back and forth all afternoon watching clouds.

At the top of Whistler mountain you can even climb higher and walk across the Cloudraker Skybridge and Raven’s Eye Cliff Walk. This was pretty scary but I will post a shot of it sometime

THANKS FOR YOUR VISITING BUT CAN I ASK YOU NOT TO FAVE AN IMAGE WITHOUT ALSO MAKING A COMMENT. MANY THANKS KEITH. ANYONE MAKING MULTIPLE FAVES WITHOUT COMMENTS WILL SIMPLY BE BLOCKED

happy bokeh wednesday! :)

Deadpool himself Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter today to share our first look at what Zazie Beetz will look like as Domino in Deadpool 2! Now I was expecting more of a 90's punk look for Domino because that's always how pictured her, but it seems they've gone with a more 70's action star. I'm not a fan of the afro, it doesn't seem so practical. I'm also not a fan of the white on her eye, it doesn't stand out as much as that spot does in the comics. I'm okay that she's black, but I think they could've pulled off a black spot because her skin is light enough. Anyways, I'm just nitpicking, I guess I'm going to have to see it in action to have a full opinion on it. Le me know what you think of this costume in the comments below!

Thai people love lottery. They think that lottery is long term inverstment than a gamble! One talent of Thai people is they can find numbers out of almost everythings. For example, they can very patient carefully search a number(mostly 2 digits or 3 digits) from the pattern of a tree which they believe to be a sacred tree or just simply the numbers from their dreams. If they know that sometime the numbers can also out of the traffic lights, there would no doubt that this sky walk will be crowd of people 2 times a month!
