Slowly getting caught up
Driving on the east side of Lake Ellyn during a slow period of snowfall. I love how the autumn colors are lingering long enough to capture the color with the more or less b/w scene.
Have a great upcoming week everyone :-)

Just a few hours ago I heard baby duckling calls on the pond by the house, I went to investigate in time to watch all of the youngsters drop out of the tree about 10 feet up, bounce on various branches on the way down and plop in the water, they were falling through brambles so I caught the final 5 and carefully placed them in the pond, here they are 2 minutes later, 10 of them starting their new life. I was just so blessed to be there at that special moment as their new adventure started.
The park across the street you will find the odd Daffy here and there. Monday this was the 1st one I saw open. Today many more. Yes to spring.
Stetson looks so much older than one in this image. I think that's true of Goldens and Labs....they look so serious most of the time.

…… A garden Rose is oft my ‘go to’ 1st reserve for my picture of the day! And as today was an at home day and a hot one at that a Rose it is for #226! But things are looking brighter - or should I say DARKER! Rain is coming our way (hopefully). As usual this was taken on my phone in Apple RAW and edited in Lightroom. Alan:-)

For a couple of minutes we had this gorgeous sky on the first day of 2025 - it was a promising start of the new year!
The sun made a brief appearance that allowed for a nice shot of the Lake Superior Railroad Museum equipment out back that's normally behind a chain link fence. Duluth MN.
What a difference 1 day makes. The East and West Spanish Peaks now have their first snow. Now its raining like heck. We need the moisture
I've been experimenting... This is a 3 shot Pano, but its really 120 shots. Lol... In a sequence I shot focus bracketed shots alternating with exposure bracketed shots. Then I processed as an HDR Pano. Why did I do this? I just like to play, learn, and improve. I've been doing exposure bracketing and focus bracketing as a "one or the other choice" in the field. Now I can do both together if I want and it works pretty well. If any of you would like more detailed information just email me.
This is Atticus, a male Regal Jumping Spider. We got him at the same time as Lucy, the female that I posted a photo of about a week ago. Atticus took a little longer to get acclimated to his new home. So, I waited longer to take photos of him. I wanted to ensure that I didn't frighten him any more than he already was. When I photographed him today, he was calm, curious, and full of charisma.
This species is found in the southeastern U.S., the Greater Antilles, and the Bahamas, but is most common in peninsular Florida. Atticus and Lucy were both captive bred by a professional breeder located here in the Eastern United States.
