Aircraft was constructed in 1942 at the castle Bromwich factory in the UK and has served with sevral different squadron’s but while serving with 501 squadron scored 6 of its confirmed kills with squadron leader Geoffrey Northcott as the pilot.
Aircraft is now in the colours of 402 Squadron City of Winnipeg RCAF
From 1968 to 1989 the Spitfire was a Gate Guardian at RAF Wattisham
Goodyear FG-1D Corsair 130-A G-FGID Royal Navy KD345 Fleet Air Arm
1945 accepted by the US Navy BuNo 88297
This plane is now painted as KD345 which was with the 1850 squadron based on HMS Vengeance, part of the British Pacific fleet

The Tamiya kit.
Decals are a combination of the Tamiya kit decal and Techmod 48068. This Techmod decal gave me some trouble--the two large white '155' markings bled during manufacture, and it wasn't evident to me how serious this was until I dipped them in water. The decal that I used on the port side of the model wasn't so bad, but I didn't photograph the starboard side, because the decal on that side was noticeably fuzzy.

Sunrise on the harbour of Portpatrick.
Portpatrick is small harbour with a narrow somewhat tricky entrance. It is set midway along the west coast of Galloway an area beset by strong tidal streams. At one time Portpatrick was used for commercial traffic to Ireland, but was abandoned for this purpose in 1870. The Rhins of Galloway is the 26 mile long peninsular, with Portpatrick located about midway.

One of my favourite shorebird species, the beautiful Hooded Plover.
On Tuesday 8/3/2022, 1451s (empty 1D grain to Bowmans) is seen approaching Gawler River road (between Two Wells-Virginia, SA) with clp17-alf24 in charge.
This was the first empty grain to run in the early evening this grain season, if only the lesser used but more photogenic GM46 had replaced regular grain loco clp17 on the lead.
My Zorki 1D with some books related to this camera:
- "Poradnik fotografa wojskowego" / "Military Photographer's Guide" by Jan Mierzanowski - quite unique book published in Warsaw in 1954. The cover image, which looks like a heavily retouched photo, shows a soldier holding a Leica camera or Soviet copies of it.
- "Fotografujemy Zorką" / "We photograph with Zorki" by Wacław Żdżarski (pronounced: "zh-dzh-arski) which was photographer of polish underground army (Armia Krajowa) during Warsaw uprising. Back then he was using German Leica's, so he knew much about Zorkis - "poor mans Leica".

This image won a bronze medal in the 2010 Laurie Thomas New Zealand Landscape Salon organised by Christchurch Photographic Society. I had entered three of what I thought were "good landscapes" into the competition and added this to make up the numbers (4 allowed), but looking at the results, the judges in 2010 liked misty ethereal type images, so this succeeded while the others failed.
I was asked to produce an audio-visual (AV) of this competition for the organisers and when I was given all the info, one of them said "you will be pleased". It wasn't till I was going through all the successful images that I found I had been awarded a bronze medal.

After a much needed break, back to creating some MOCs. This time, my favorite helicopter in 2 versions. Thinking about the gunship next, but I think it is time to focus back on vehicles...
Hey everyone! Jack here, and this time I’m happy to present a digital rendering of my next model! This is My F4U-1D Corsair MOC, designed by me over at stud.io and rendered with their rendering software. I’ll go into more of the details of the model and history once I have photographed it “in the brick”, so to speak, but for now I just wanted to share with you all a glimpse into a new frontier for me that I’ve wanted to break into for a while: digital LEGO. Not only is it typically more cost effective for me in the sense that I can compare/contrast various designs and techniques without purchasing upfront parts, but it also allows me to familiarize myself with an aspect of LEGO I have previously not often been concerned with: instructions.
“Now hold on, Jack, why would instructions be of any use to you? You built the darn thing, didn’t you?” Well, yes, I have. But they aren’t for me -- they are for the public! See, this post also serves as a bit of an announcement for a small instructions selling business I intend to start. I plan to make the instructions affordable but reasonable in price, and make them very detailed but readable -- as is, of course, ideal. These instructions shall be digitally designed and delivered, and will include a digital parts list that is uploadable to the site of Bricklink.com. It will auto-order your parts into your cart there, ready for checkout. I’ll of course provide estimate ranges for the models themselves calculated on a daily basis for anyone interested in my instructions/parts lists.
Honestly, this is something I’ve been reluctant to do as I never personally wanted to turn my LEGO hobby/passion into a business for others. Plus, I have no idea how successful I’ll be. Even so, the way I see it is that I can try it for a while and if it doesn’t pan out in any way shape or form adequate enough for its shut-down, I can stop without any dire consequences.
