Freedom is Slavery

A painting of the author George Orwell on the wall of a local pier (he lived in the area for a while)

Minolta Hi-Matic F - "SOOC"

My first own camera, I got in 1974. Unfortunately it was stolen during those holidays 1984 in Madrid :(

Finally I made it, sorting out my old slides. I wondered, how good the quality is after scanning. This is so to say a SOOC picture.

A Silver Award Star Rider badge given to me after I completed part 1 of my full motorcycle test back in 1984. I passed part 2 and still hold a full motorcycle licence.

Taken 1:1 using a Canon PowerShot SX430 IS.

I was hanging around Tacoma hoping to meet up with Chance but alas, I needed my beauty sleep. Roaming around the Thea Foss I encountered this op, must have looked pretty stupid laying on the stairs for this one. :-)

Diese Bilder sind eine kleine Auswahl aus einer Reportage, die ich 1984 bei den Feierlichkeiten zum 40. Jahrestag der Alliierten Invasion in der Normandie fotografiert habe.

These pictures are a small selection from my photo reportage about the 40th anniversary of the allied landing in Normandy.

She had 20 inch cushion of air, and would fly over water, sand, mudflats, up rivers at 40mph.

Hilversum, the Netherlands.

A snapshot from our rehearsal dinner June 29, 1984, when our hair was dark and our faces were uncreased. Happy anniversary to my bride of 41 years, Linda Martin Hudson. I have been richly blessed. (I don't have any data on who took the photo.)

Can you believe it? In fresh air and in February 2023. A lesson in what propaganda can do.

Hard to tell from the front but this is actually a pick-up conversion.

With my dad help at age 7 , and his NIKON F3 , I guess this is my first photo....

A pair of pristine Manufacturers Railway switchers cross a large bridge across the highway. As I was driving I could see these guys in the distance so I pulled over on the highway to grab this shot. I didn't remember until I scanned this shot that you can see part of the St Louis Arch in the background behind the trestle. April 1984

I wanted to have all six outfits grouped in one photo. The Sindys were such ladies throughout... A pleasure to work with.

I didn't mean to give them lines, but this is how my brain works all the time. I can't look at a doll without hearing it speak. Especially when they are in a group like this.

It was too tempting. There's probably a name for my condition, haha! And a facility to go with it.

I guess I've loved photography longer than I'd realized.

It was 1984 when Ceausescu inaugurated the parliament building

It was the second largest government building after the Pentagon

It was 1948 when Orwell wrote 1984

It was all true

Registered in Worcester, taxed and has an MOT till September.
