This is one of my first photos, year 1979, whenever I see it, I think of "The Innocent Saints" by Miguel Delibes. A long wait... in an old train station.
When I was a child... I played countless hours with this train.
It was December 1979. I was 5 years old. We traveled to Germany to visit family. Every single morning, my uncle left a small toy car (Matchbox or Majorette) next to my bed, so I would have a present from him when I woke up. Every single morning! Well, with two exceptions: the first morning I found an amazing toy Caterpillar hydraulic shovel, and on Christmas I got from him this electric train.
Back in Buenos Aires I would spend full afternoons playing with the train and the cars, building cities around with Lego.
Almost 37 years later, this train is the only toy I brought to New York with me (just the locomotive, the rest of the cars and the tracks are still in Buenos Aires). I did bring back last Summer some Matchbox cars that a childhood friend found in his home and returned to me. Pictures of two of those are in my photostream a month or two back.
Needless to say this is one of the most fond memories I keep from that age. It was really nice to take the locomotive out of the box and play with it once more (yes, finding the right angle for the shot now qualifies as playing with the toy! In fact, the angle I chose is one my eyes would see often while playing).

The TVR Taimar was the first iteration of the TVR M Series and was introduced at the October 1976 British International Motor Show at Earls Court in London. This beautifully turned out gold and brown striped 1979 TVR Taimar, ETH 936V, was seen at Sywell Classic on 25th September 2022.

Le Hanseatiske Museum de Bergen est situé au Finnegården 1a, à Bergen sur la côte sud-ouest, en Norvège.
Ce Musée hanséatique occupe l'un des plus vieux bâtiments en bois à Bergen. On peut marcher à travers ce bâtiment de 1704, la seule maison sur Bryggen qui a conservé son intérieur d'origine avec les logements situés à l'étage tandis que le rez-de-chaussée comprenait les bureaux et les entrepôts, où séchait le poisson.
Le musée a été ouvert en 1872 et dispose d'ailleurs de deux maisons de commerce, une face à la mer et une à l'arrière de l'immeuble. Meublé dans le style du 18e siècle, le musée montre la vie des marchands hanséatiques, i.e. comment les marchands allemands de la Ligue hanséatique ont vécu et travaillé à Bergen. En effet, de 1350 à 1750, ces marchands ont dirigé le commerce du poisson et du grain entre les villes de la ligue, à partir de leur bureau de Bergen.
Pendant 4 siècles jusqu'en 1754, en tant que comptoir important de l'empire commercial de la Ligue hanséatique, Bergen était donc un centre de commerce prospère qui reliait la Norvège au reste de l'Europe. Bryggen, son quai hanséatique situé sur la rive nord de la baie de Vågen et du port de Bergen, est le témoin le plus marquant de cette époque.
Les anciens entrepôts en bois qui longent la rive nord du port intérieur étaient jadis surnommés "Tyskebriggen" (quai allemand). Depuis 1979, le site est classé au patrimoine de l'UNESCO (WHL-59). Aujourd'hui, de nombreux restaurants, des pubs, des boutiques d'artisanat et des musées historiques se sont installés ces dernières années.
Bergen est entourée de montagnes et fjords, dont le Sognefjord, qui est le plus long et le plus large du pays. Son quartier de Bryggen se distingue par ses maisons en bois colorées sur le vieux quai. Le funiculaire de Fløibanen emmène les visiteurs au sommet du mont Fløyen, avec sa vue panoramique et ses nombreux sentiers de randonnée.

The AMC AMX is a two-seat GT-style muscle car produced by American Motors Corporation from 1968 through 1970. As one of just two American-built two-seaters, the AMX was in direct competition with the one-inch (2.5 cm) longer wheelbase Chevrolet Corvette, for substantially less money. It was based on the new-for-1968 Javelin, but with a shorter wheelbase and deletion of the rear seat. In addition, the AMX's rear quarter windows remained fixed, making it a coupe, while the Javelin was a true two-door hardtop.

Locomotiva a fost modernizată în anul 2025 la SCRL Brașov cu motoare electrice de tracțiune asincrone și sistem ETCS nivel 2.
483 002-8 (ex 43-0097-2), CFR Călători, built in 1979 at Rade Končar, Zagreb, assigned to regular commercial service hauling train 366 “Harghita” on the Brașov – Dej Călători section.
The locomotive was modernised in 2025 at SCRL Brașov, being fitted with asynchronous traction motors and ETCS Level 2.
