Tangara labradorides labradorides

Metallic-green Tanagers inhabit humid montane forests in the Andes in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. They are mostly blue-green in color, although strongly they appear to be blue or green can change, depending upon light conditions.
Their diet consists almost entirely of arthropods and fruits. Metallic-green Tanagers are usually found in pairs or small groups and often join flocks consisting of multiple tanager species.
There are two recognized subspecies of the Metallic-green Tanager (Storer 1970):
-labradorides Boissinneau 1840; type locality Santa-Fé de Bogota [Colombia]
Occurs in western and central Colombia and in western Ecuador (Storer 1970, Hilty and Brown 1986, Ridgely and Greenfield 2001).
-chaupensis Chapman 1925; type locality Chaupe, Cajamarca, Peru
Occurs in southeastern Ecuador and in northern Peru (Storer 1970, Ridgely and Greenfield 2001, Schulenberg et al. 2007).

In de jaren 2014-2017 was het altijd een verrassing welke loc de Bocholter Eisenbahn voor de keteltrein naar de KAO in Emmerich zou inzetten. Meestal was het hun V90 (die anno 2022 nog steeds onmisbaar is) en soms hun V200, V60 of (DR) V100. De laatstgenoemde, de BEG 202 271-3 (bouwjaar 1970) duwt de ene ketelwagen vanuit het industrieterrein richting Bahnhof Emmerich om vanuit daar de vrije baan op te gaan het Ruhrgebied in.
I'd not really ever seen these guys hauled out at my ocean cliffside birdie watching location before so this was a bit of a treat. Their napping gets a small interruption as this incoming swell begins to break over their rock. Harbor seals do need to haul out for maybe 7-12 hours per day, in order to maintain body temperature.
Most roadworthy 60s and 70s cars like this Cortina tend to be immaculate, usually living in a garage. It is quite obvious that this example is an exception to the rule. To me, the condition of this Cortina makes it all the more interesting, as it represents how most of them looked in the mid to late 80s when they were being used as bangers. For this one to have survived into the 2020s is quite remarkable. The car apparently has 21K on the clock, but I’d imagine it’s more likely to be on 121K.

The second generation of the Chevrolet Chevelle was built from 1967 until 1972. This two-door coupe version has a 5.3 litre V8 engine.
Classic 1970 6.6-litre Pontiac muscle car TUJ435H at Bidford Classic Wings and Wheels on 15th September 2024.
Bit of an odd one, I thought it was an old SAAB when I first caught a glimpse of it. Old streeview images show this one looking very dirty, so its obviously had a tidy up reasonably recently.
Matra made these for about 6 years, and turned out fewer than 10,000.

I can not tell you why the 1970 Opel calender featured a photo of a downhill soapbox race, nor what Opel imagined to gain with it. I can only see the Opel name on the wheels of the two orange or yellow vehicles. Maybe the sons of an Opel executive participated, Opel sponsored and the boys had to appear in the calander.
What I wonder is, does this kind of racing still exist today? Or has it disappeared althogether because it is not fashionable in our Playstation and X-Box years anymore to participate?
