A Chevron Gas Station in Eldorado Canyon Ghost Town. Located off Route 165 in Nelson NV. Some late night photography with a mini-maglite under a bright moon. A 3 shot HDR image for more detail in the shadows.
It was a long time since I did any HDR photography. So with this shot, I needed a longer exposure than 30 seconds to get the light painting in because the camera was farther from the subjects. Thus, rather than the traditional exposure blend of 3 various exposures, I did 3 exposures with different parts of the scene light painted. One for the light painting on the ground and pumps. One for the blue lights building, and the last one for the red filter and inside the building.

Haworth Village comes alive when the 1940s comes to the Worth Valley. Tens of thousands of people throng the village, many in ’40s civilian and forces dress.
This a from my archives an taken in September 2018 and was taken at the Sheringham 1940s weekend.
I don't normally do much Street photography or portraiture as I find it a bit voyeuristic, however the 1940's weekend that is held annually in Sheringham and Holt, Norfolk, provides an opportunity to take pictures when many people are in period costume and are happy to have their photo taken.
Unfortunately I don't know who the lady in this photo is, but if it's you and would like a free copy or would like me to take it down please get in touch.
Based on vintage Hacker-Craft/Chris-Craft boats. Any tips on hulls/decking from boat builders is appreciated!
1940s AEC Matador looking sorry for itself. An ex army vehicle which later found use as a wrecker, although its identity is unknown. The 'AC' roundels on the front panel could be a clue to its previous owner... Seen here in December 2025.
This is a circa 1943 Dodge “Job-Rated” D-15 GS-1 2-Door, 2-3-Passenger, “4X2”, 3-Ton, Closed Cab, General Service Lorry, in a very corroded shade of “Light Blue”.
This vehicle has been sitting-and-rotting in this same exact spot on the Greek island of Kefalonia for many years. The truck is a RHD export model, and judging from information on the leftover VIN/ID plaques inside the cab, it was built in Windsor, Ontario, Canada - purpose-equipped for military and civilian use in Europe during WWII. The VIN plaque had a very rough, yet just-visible build date of “27-3-43”. This Dodge might’ve seen some action in those final war years, afterwards - much like many other former military vehicles exported here - it would’ve led a long, hard life on the islands of Greece as a privately-owned civilian workhorse.
I did not lift the bonnet/hood, but this truck would’ve likely come from the factory fitted with a 236.6-CID inline-six-cylinder Diesel engine. Having had a good look at the truck close-up in person, this is probably too far-gone for a viable restoration build. There have probably been worse examples since brought back to life, but it’ll be a big brave project for anyone willing to attempt such an endeavour!
There are a few other similar Dodge trucks of this vintage dotted around the island of Kefalonia; I know of at least two examples which are in worse conditions than this one.
