Les Chapieux, Savoie, Auvernia-Ródano-Alpes, France.
Las Chapieux es un pequeño asentamiento alpino con un grupo de edificios alrededor del albergue conocido como el Auberge de la Nova. Se encuentra en el Parque Nacional de la Vanoise a aproximadamente 1.550 metros sobre el nivel del mar y situado casi en la cabeza del valle desde Chapieux que discurre en dirección sur hacia la localidad de Bourg-Saint-Maurice. Las Chapieux es una parada del famoso Tour du Mont Blanc, y un punto de avituallamiento de la carrera anual Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc.
Las Chapieux is a small alpine settlement with a group of buildings around the lodge known as the Auberge de la Nova. It is located in the Vanoise National Park at approximately 1,550 meters above sea level and situated almost at the head of the valley from Chapieux which runs south towards the town of Bourg-Saint-Maurice. The Chapieux is a stop on the famous Tour du Mont Blanc, and a refreshment point for the annual Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc race.
Am 18.02.26 war die knapp zwei Wochen alte 249 083 damit beschäftigt , die H-Wagen bei der BSH in Bad Neustadt zu wechseln.Zum Glück riss die Wolkendecke da mal kurz auf.

Op de door de straffe wind ijzig koude 18 februari 2026 was het enigszins zonnig en nadat de schoonmaakster vertrokken was ging ik met de fiets richting 'de thuisstek". Er reed namelijk weer een meettrein over de Betuweroute die ik graag wilde vastleggen (dank voor de tip). Bij aankomst bleek het toch wel erg koud en met de harde wind vol in het gezicht was het wachten geen pretje. Na bijna 45 minuten wachten kwam er vlak voordat de trein moest passeren ineens gezelschap in de vorm van twee agenten die mij om mijn identiteitsbewijs kwamen vragen. Er bleek te zijn gebeld dat men dacht dat ik voor de trein wilde gaan springen. Gelukkig mocht ik blijven staan na controle en bleek de meettrein in zicht te zijn. In dit geval betrof het de Ultrasoon meettrein UST02 welke de spoorstaven controleert op haarscheurtjes. Omdat deze trein geen ERTMS aan boord heeft word deze op de Betuweroute voortgetrokken door een lok. In dit geval betrof het de bont bestickerde 203-614 van RFO, die niet zo vaak buiten de Rotterdamse haven te vinden is. Helaas bleek de trein via linkerspoor te gaan en door de stop kon ik nog net van positie wisselen voor het maken van een paniekshot. Met bevroren vingers werd afgedrukt toen we de combinatie al metend ter hoogte van Gorinchem zagen passeren op weg richting Kijfhoek. Hierna volgde een vervelende fietstocht naar huis waar gelukkig kon worden opgewarmd.

50050 / D400 with 47805 on the tail pull into Wigan North Western for a brief stop returning home as 5Z72 13:53 Carnforth North Junction - Crewe Holding Sidings. The tail of 4S44 has just gone out of sight round the corner in the background.

GULF OF THAILAND (Feb. 26, 2018) The port anchor of the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) is released during anchoring operations in the Gulf of Thailand. Bonhomme Richard is operating in the Indo-Pacific region as part of a regularly scheduled patrol and provides a rapid-response capability in the event of a regional contingency or natural disaster.
