1. 1: Start with two circles of MDF (these are 17inch & 18.5inch round), (thanks to my DH! - he works so well to my design!) (think that the bottom circle might have been 19" diameter)
2. 2: Spacers screwed into place by DH!,
3. 3: Cover the gaps between the two circles in white card, (this prevents light from shining through the finished cake stand and gives a more robust finish)
4. 4: There - all covered - doesn't matter that its not very tidy!,
7. 7: Staple gun them in place! - action shot!,
8. 8: Trim off the excess fabric,
9. 9: Trimming off the excess fabric,
10. 10: All fabric trimmed, glue on a circle of white card to cover the staples and neaten it all off,
11. 11: All done! - sit back and admire the crisp edge!,

please note, the silver cake board is not fastened to the stand, I merely placed it there to show the finished effect if you can imagine a cake on top!.
I glued a white circle of card, slightly smaller than the board onto the stand to cover the staple line. (not pictured cos I couldn't find the darned card at the time!!)

maybe some sort of non-biting midge? it was small, I've put a 1mm bar on the bottom of the shot to give you an indication of how little this thing is. So viewing it large on a 17inch monitor at 1280x1024 resolution will give a magnification of around 225x
I think it works out to be around 30x on the sensor - that's about as zoomified as I can manage at the moment

Even though it's already incredibly detailed, I still had a feeling that my Aladdin Wedding LE set was missing something, just like the Live Action Wedding Cinderella doll ... So I made a bouquet for Jasmine to hold, and I think it's the PERFECT finishing touch for the set too ;o).

I'm starting to drastically run out of display space for my dolls. So whilst tidying-up and homing a few just recently, I came up with the ingenious space-saving idea to double-up a couple of them in one box.
I was a bit worried they might look too cramped, but I actually think they work rather well like this. Plus, at least that's one or two less boxes to find room to display, hey ;)

I wonder If there are any MORE characters I could double-up in one box ? ... Any ideas ? ...

Group photo of the LE dolls I got today in person from the Disney Store. Unopened boxes. DFDC Rapunzel and Mother Gothel 12'' dolls, 17'' Aladdin, Jasmine and Jafar dolls. Photo taken at home.
I visited the Disney Store twice today to get the various Limited Edition dolls that were being released in store today. They included Teal Jasmine (pre-ordered), Aladdin, and Jafar 17 inch doll, and the Rapunzel and Mother Gothel Designer Doll Set. I was also getting the pre-ordered Aladdin Diamond Edition Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. I got to the store at 6:30 am with another collector and was first in line. We could see the 17 inch dolls stacked up (on their backs) behind the counter. At about 7 am another regular of these releases joined us. At about 9 am they handed out line cards, and told us that they had 8 Jafar, 12 Aladdin and 16 Jasmine dolls. There were 11 people in line, so three people missed out on the Jafar, but they got the other dolls. Then at 9:30 a twelfth person showed up, and got the last Aladdin.
We had the opening ceremony (which was very entertaining this time around), and then were let in the store at about 10 am. They let me keep the line cards. I had the cards out and on the counter, but the checkout clerk never asked for them. All three of the dolls looked great to me, with not visible defects. I was pleasantly surprised by how neat Aladdin's hair was. Jasmine's eyelashes were close to perfect.
Then I went back to the store at lunchtime to enter the raffle for DFDC Rapunzel and Mother Gothel. They had 18 doll sets, and I was called 14th, so I was sweating it out until I was called. I'm not sure if they sold all 18 dolls, but it was close. There were a couple of no shows, so perhaps they came in later to claim their dolls. Rapunzel's hair was really great looking with the gold tinsel.
The lighting was terrible in the store, so I didn't take any photos of my dolls at the checkout counter. I was also rushed as I had to get back to work, so I didn't take any photos outside of the store either. So my first, quick photos of my Disney Store haul today was taken at home. Not photographed was the Aladdin Blu-ray/DVD. I also got the Tomorrowland Blu-ray/DVD combo in the mail today (from Amazon).
I've just added the newly released 2016 DFDC Cinderella and Lady Tremaine Doll Set to my home computer desk. They have been completely deboxed, and reposed in their display stand (with the backing and covers removed). I've removed several dolls and figurines to make room for them. I've also rearranged the remaining dolls a bit to make things less crowded. Here are the items shown in this photo. All by the Disney Store, unless otherwise noted.

I've created an illustrated chronology of Disney 17 inch Limited Edition doll releases by year, from 2009 to 2016. It includes dolls for characters from Disney Princess and Alice movies, both animated and live action. All dolls were produced and sold by the Disney Store, except for the Disney Parks dolls of Aurora (Disneyland Resort, 2015), and Snow White (Shanghai Disney Resort, 2016). All photos were taken by me of dolls in my collection, except for the Platinum Mad Hatter and Alice Doll Set (which are my photos of another doll collector's dolls). Dolls that were sold in sets are shown in separate images.
Here is a group photo of all the Limited Edition 17 inch dolls individually released by the Disney Store celebrating the 80th anniversary of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The D23 Expo exclusive dolls are above, and the other dolls are below. They are all fully deboxed, are supported by their included display stands, and have all their included accessories. I got all these dolls in person when they were released. I will post an updated group photo when I receive and debox the Limited Edition Snow White and Prince Doll Set.

I've placed my fully deboxed Rags Snow White LE Doll on my desktop, in a temporary position, right next to my computer keyboard. She is among both 17 and 12 inch dolls, all representing characters from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Once I debox the newly released Evil Queen and the Prince, I will rearrange the display.

The other dolls are all by the Disney Store, from the 17'' LE dolls to the 3.5'' posable Mini Figurines. I also have the Disney Store Ice Skating Elsa doll, and the Mattel singing 12'' Anna and Elsa dolls, and the 16'' singing Anna and Elsa dolls by the Disney Store. Here is my collection of all 17'' Limited Edition dolls produced by Disney for characters from Disney Princess movies, plus Alice in Wonderland, as of January 2, 2017. I am only missing the Platinum Alice and Mad Hatter Limited Edition Doll Set from having a complete collection. There are a total of 53 of these dolls released so far, including the Harrods versions of Anna, Elsa and Aurora. There are nine more dolls in my collection since the last group photo I did on November 11, 2015, up to 51 from 42. Since I am putting them in the same area as the previous group photo, I've had to squeeze in more dolls per row, so they look a bit crowded.
They are ordered roughly by release date, but also related dolls are placed next to each other. So for instance all the Cinderella dolls are together, and the same for the Frozen dolls. Included are the live action Cinderella dolls, and the Alice Through the Looking Glass dolls (Alice and Red Queen). Also included are the limited edition Disney Parks dolls: the Disneyland 60th Anniversary Limited Edition Aurora Doll and the Shanghai Disney Resort Grand Opening Limited Edition Snow White Doll. The dolls include the accessories that originally came with them (except for Kristoff's mandolin).

They totally outshine the 2012 animated Cinderella doll, and in a way make up for her deficiencies. Also included is the Disneyland 60th Anniversary Limited Edition Aurora Doll. Coronation Elsa has the orb and scepter props that came with the D23 Expo exclusive Elsa and Hans Doll Set. All the other dolls are as they came in the original box.

I'm really proud to introduce you my Snow White Limited doll Snow White. She's really stunning and wonderfull.
Alice in wonderland doll is full rerooted by me (Vanessa Ariel Wonderland) and repainted by the amazing artis Claude On The Road. Alice wears her true dress like the 1951 movie, she has big culrs like the limited Alice doll edition and she wears her black node.

Alice and Iracebeth Through the Looking Glass 17'' LE dolls (2016), next to Queen of Hearts and Alice in Wonderland 17'' LE dolls (2011). All by the Disney Store.
I was late to the party, but I finally caved and bought the Alice and Iracebeth the Red Queen Limited Edition Through the Looking Glass 17'' Dolls from my local Disney Store several days after their release. I got both of them on Thursday, June 2, 2016, three days after their in store release in the US. They still had several Alice and Red Queen dolls for sale on the shelves. I picked the best of what they had available. I show them boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed, both alone and with other dolls. Alice is #1233 of 4000, and Iracebeth is #1159 of 4000.
Both of them are still available online in the US Disney Store site as of July 10, 2016.

Here is a group shot of my collection of Limited Edition 17'' Dolls released by the Disney Store. They are all fully deboxed, and are standing side by side in three tiers, supported by their included doll stands. I also include dolls that are not characters from Disney Princess movies, such as Sgt. Calhoun and China Girl. Some of these dolls were listed as 18 or 19 inches tall. All were purchased first hand by me, except for the first five dolls and the Harrods Anna and Elsa, who were purchased second hand but mint in box.
The latest additions are the Pink and Blue Aurora dolls from the Harrods Limited Edition Aurora Doll Gift Set, which I purchased on October 21, 2014 and received on October 27, 2014.

Here is the complete set of LE Aurora 17 inch dolls produced by Disney so far. The outfits are all variations of her Princess gown, in both pink and blue colors. They are completely deboxed. The Disney Store and Harrods dolls are supported by their included display stands. The Disney Parks dolls are supported by stands borrowed from other DS LE dolls in my collection.

Here are my three Limited Edition Snow White 17 dolls that have been released by Disney so far. They are all in variations of her iconic yellow, blue and red Princess outfit. They are side by side, supported by their included display stands. They are holding hands, so the original Snow White doll is not holding her accessory bird and apple figures. The original doll is still the fairest in my view, then the D23 Snow White, and last is the Shanghai. But they are all very lovely dolls, and represent the Princess Snow White very well.

Here are all seventeen of the Limited Edition 17 inch (Heirloom) and 12 inch (Designer) dolls produced by Disney Store and Disney Parks for the characters of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, from 2009 to 2017. All the dolls have been completely deboxed. The 17 inch dolls are standing side by side, supported by their included display stands. The Designer dolls have been reposed in their original display stands, without their covers and cardboard backing.
An amazing seven of these dolls (all 17 inch) were released just this year, two at the D23 Expo on July 15, and five online and in stores on August 1-2. The 12 inch Designer dolls are placed at a lower level than the 17 inch dolls. We can see that many of the aspects of the 17 inch dolls (after the original Snow White) were borrowed from Designer dolls.

I visited the Disney Store twice today to get the various Limited Edition dolls that were being released in store today. They included Teal Jasmine (pre-ordered), Aladdin, and Jafar 17 inch doll, and the Rapunzel and Mother Gothel Designer Doll Set. I was also getting the pre-ordered Aladdin Diamond Edition Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. I got to the store at 6:30 am with another collector and was first in line. We could see the 17 inch dolls stacked up (on their backs) behind the counter. At about 7 am another regular of these releases joined us. At about 9 am they handed out line cards, and told us that they had 8 Jafar, 12 Aladdin and 16 Jasmine dolls. There were 11 people in line, so three people missed out on the Jafar, but they got the other dolls. Then at 9:30 a twelfth person showed up, and got the last Aladdin.
We had the opening ceremony (which was very entertaining this time around), and then were let in the store at about 10 am. They let me keep the line cards. I had the cards out and on the counter, but the checkout clerk never asked for them. All three of the dolls looked great to me, with not visible defects. I was pleasantly surprised by how neat Aladdin's hair was. Jasmine's eyelashes were close to perfect.
Then I went back to the store at lunchtime to enter the raffle for DFDC Rapunzel and Mother Gothel. They had 18 doll sets, and I was called 14th, so I was sweating it out until I was called. I'm not sure if they sold all 18 dolls, but it was close. There were a couple of no shows, so perhaps they came in later to claim their dolls. Rapunzel's hair was really great looking with the gold tinsel.
The lighting was terrible in the store, so I didn't take any photos of my dolls at the checkout counter. I was also rushed as I had to get back to work, so I didn't take any photos outside of the store either. So my first, quick photos of my Disney Store haul today was taken at home. Not photographed was the Aladdin Blu-ray/DVD. I also got the Tomorrowland Blu-ray/DVD combo in the mail today (from Amazon).
I got a bunch of newly released Frozen merchandise from the Disney Store today (march 2, 2015). Here are group photos of the LE 17'' Anna, Elsa and Kristoff dolls, and the Frozen Tsum Tsum (which I placed on top of the doll boxes). I haven't opened the doll boxes yet. I also picked up the pre-ordered NeverBeast movie, which is not shown here. More detailed photos shortly.
I've put together side by side comparisons of the dolls from the Beauty and the Beast Deluxe Doll Gift Set with the corresponding Limited Edition dolls. The images of the Deluxe 12 inch dolls are photos take by me. The images of the LE 17-18 inch dolls are from the Disney Store Blog.
