Bauhaus Weimar, Germany -
The 'Haus am Horn' has been built in 1923 on the occasion of a large Bauhaus-Exposition in Weimar. It was designed by Georg Muche and constructed by the Bauhaus Workshop as a model for modern architecture and construction. Therefore principles of prefabrication and high technical standards of the time were accomplished. Standing on a square of 12,70 x 12,70 m the house consists of several rooms surrounding a central living room, which is lit by a crown of roof lights. This inner organization is also depicted from the outside. Considered to be a total work of art the interior design - especially furniture, carpets and paintings - was carried out by several masters and students of the Bauhaus Workshop. Since December 1996 the house is registered as a World Heritage site.
