Fluffy Visitor...
While looking out the sliding glass doors to my backyard. I spotted a furry visitor, one of our neighbors cats had found its way on to the back fence in our yard.
I quickly grabbed my camera and quietly slid open the doors firing off a couple shots. the clicking of the cameras shutter got her attention and she turned, looking right at me as if posing for the shot.
Thank you for visiting for marking my photo as a favorite and for the kind comments,

Summer time 1980 or 1981. A trio of EO electrics have brought the second half of an eastbound train (mainly coal and timber from the West Coast) up through the 1 in 33 grade 8.5km (5.3 mile) Otira tunnel.
From Christchurch, diesels DJ (Mitsubishi Bo-Bo-Bo) and DG (English Electric A1A - A1A) have bought up a return train (mainly coal empties and a few freight wagons), to go back to the coast.
The DJ (3303) is turned on the turntable for the trip back to Christchurch, while the electrics attach their train to the first half waiting in the yard, hook onto the westbound and depart back down the tunnel to Otira. There is a brief climb from the Arthur’s Pass yard to the tunnel entrance across the Bealey River. In May 1980 I managed a couple of cab rides in the electrics through the tunnel.
The diesels have already been renumbered into the new TMS (Traffic Management System) numbers where the last digit is a check digit number, while the electrics are still in their pre-TMS numbers. DJ 3303 was Dj 1229 ,and is preserved in the North Island (I actually photographed it in June of 2025 in the shed at Plimmerton – Mainline Steam Heritage Trust). DG 2261 was Dg 773.
In the intervening 40+ years only the tracks and station remain at Arthur’s Pass. The electrics are long gone, as have all the four-wheel rolling stock.
All photos taken with an Asahi Pentax Spotmatic II, 50mm f/1.4 lens and Ilford FP4 film. Scanned a couple of years ago on an Epson V700 flat bed scanner with 35mm negative holder.

Stagecoach Peterborough Volvo Olympian/Alexander RL 16593.S593BCE at Queensgate Bus Station, Peterborough on the 5th September 2007.
Stagecoach in Fife/Stagecoach in Bedfordshire/Stagecoach in Bedford/Stagecoach in East Kent 16592 S592BCE on route 12 to Whitfield, Walmer and Deal.
This vehicle was new to Stagecoach United Counties Buses as 592 in 1998 and is now based at Dover. It came to East Kent in 2014 from Stagecoach in Fife where it had been a St. Andrews & District School Bus and Stagecoach in Bedfordshire (Who's poorly bleached off fleetnames it still wears!), while similar vehicles 16590 S590BCE and 16591 S591BCE are at Stagecoach in Hampshire, and 16593 S593BCE is now scrapped after a very short time at Assford.
I took this while out for a walk.
Yes I'm back again.
However due to my main computer on which I edit my work being struck down with a big bad virus, this picture and all the others I am uploading, were Unedited but have now been replaced with Edited versions. So enjoy and Thanks for your patience and understanding.
I do still hate everything about this shit that is new Flickr and always will, but an inability to find another outlet for my work that is as easy for me to use as the Old BETTER Flickr was, has forced me back to Flickr, even though it goes against everything I believe in.
I don't generally have an opinion on my own work, I prefer to leave that to other people and so based on the positive responses to my work from the various friends I had made on Flickr prior to the changes I have decided to upload some more of my work as an experiment and to see what happens.

- 2: Binningen Kronenplatz - Bahnhof SBB - Aeschenplatz - Birsfelden Hard.
