I was working a town service mini-bus shift yesterday. I was rostered to take the Solo back to Lillyhall at 6pm & finish but the duty inspector said he needed it for the back-shift man so could I take a conventional bus up instead?
"Take that 'Gold' 'decker up if you want."
Don't mind if I do, brand spanky 65 plate Scania, newest thing I've ever driven!!!
Five of these have just been delivered to Lillyhall as the X4 / X5 "Trans Cumbria" Workington - Cockermouth - Keswick - Penrith goes "Gold" from Monday 5th October.
Four have been branded for the route whilst the fourth (this one) remains unbranded and can therefore be used to cover the existing "Gold" 300 Whitehaven - Carlisle if required.
It would've been rude not to pull in at Jubilee Road and get a shot in this cracking evening sunlight.
Seen heading south at M1 J16 where it turned off en route from Gloucester to Northampton. A hell of a long way round to my mind...July 11 2021.
VX09 NBJ. Northamptons ex Gloucester golds finally saw service during the Silverstone weekend (or most of them did). Here 15525 heads along Upton Way on its way to Silverstone. All 9 of these golds that are at Northampton are now finally in town service...July 16 2021.
After sitting in the yard for a couple of weeks, some of the ex West Gold Scania's have finally entered public service.
15525 YX09NBJ spent its first day as an Northampton vehicle wandering around the Villages on the D3, here it is seen passing through Nether Heyford heading back from Daventry
The fall foliage is beginning to disappear as NS intermodal train 27A heads south through Boyce, Virginia on November 18, 2023, but it was an excellent season for color, overall.
