Am Nachmittag des 29.08.2015 rangiert 1500 02 der OHE Cargo vor dem alten Bahnhofsgebäude in Poitzen.
Nachdem der gewünschte Kesselwagen im Bahnhof von Poitzen ausrangiert wurde, ging es mit diesem weiter nach Beckedorf (29.08.2015).

The African buffalo or Cape buffalo (Syncerus caffer) is a large Sub-Saharan African bovine. Syncerus caffer caffer, the Cape buffalo, is the typical subspecies found in South and East Africa. The adult buffalo's horns are its characteristic feature: they have fused bases, forming a continuous bone shield across the top of the head referred to as a "boss".
Cape Buffalo are suspected to kill around 200 people every year. They typically will charge and gore their victims and have been known to trample people as well. When you see Cape Buffalo roaming in Africa, they're usually not alone. Weighing in at over 1500 lbs, even most lions don't dare bother hunting this aggressive beast unless the lions are in a huge pride. – Wikipedia
This truck needs a little TLC. The headliner is coming down, the taillights are non-existent and there is rust on the bumpers and wheels, but the most disturbing thing is the large nest in the passenger seat. You can see the nesting material sticking out of the door. Now, I would guess an emu nest or an ostrich, but we don’t have those birds in the USA.
Whatever it is, it is big and, I’m guessing, hungry! After all, who knows how long it has been shut in this truck.

Sin duda uno de los alicientes que tenia la línea de La Robla hace algunos años eran los carboneros que circulaban entre la Central Térmica de Guardo y Mataporquera.
El carbón provenía del puerto de Santander. Hasta Mataporquera lo bajaba Renfe cargado en vagones abiertos Ealos. En Mataporquera se procedía a transferir el carbón de los Ealos de Renfe a las tolvas de Feve, que se encargaría de llevarlo hasta Guardo.
La tracción de este tren corría a cargo de tres GECo 1500 de Feve en mando múltiple, sin duda un verdadero espectáculo verlas circular.
En la foto podemos ver el carbonero cargado en dirección a Guardo coronando la rampa que hay a la salida de Cillamayor.

El ferrocarril en Asturias ha estado siempre muy profundamente ligado a su enorme industria siderúrgica. Desde sus orígenes, ha transportado enormes cantidades de materias primas y productos hasta y desde los complejos industriales para su posterior empleo en la fabricación de los más diversos elementos.
Una línea de sobra conocida es la de El Valle. Proyectada y construida en los años 60 para el transporte de carbón (transformado posteriormente en coque) del puerto de El Musel, así como de otros productos entre las industrias de Avilés y Veriña, es un auténtico no parar de circulaciones con cada vez más variado material, desde las vetustas pero robustas D hasta las más nuevas F y esporádicamente alguna mole con ruedas danesa...
Coque, carbón, slabs, planchas... o los impresionantes vagones torpedo con arrabio líquido a 1500 grados de temperatura son las cargas transportadas por estas sufridas máquinas, que no paran ni un solo día.
En la imagen, dos D en mando múltiple arrastran dos enormes torpedos llenos de arrabio hacia las acerías de Avilés a paso muy lento, pero sin pausa.

A vintage SEAT 1500 in the Motor Clàssic III meeting, in Sabadell.
This was acquired by Rich, one of my colleagues/friends just a few weeks before his retirement. He had owned a TR3 and TR7 previously so finding another Triumph for his retirement hobby car was a natural.
Rich liked the car but it was a bit underpowered so that inspired his next hobby car.

Und hier meine beiden letzten Fotos von dem Park. Interessant, dass diese Allee, je nach Standort der Aufnahme, doch immer wieder etwas anders aussieht.
Kirschblüte auf Hokkaido
Hokkaido ist die nördlichste große Insel Japans. Sie hat deutlich kühleres Klima als z.B. Tokyo. Der Winter beginnt hier recht früh, dauert sehr lange und ist ziemlich kalt. Es liegt richtig hoher Schnee auf der Insel.
In Hakodate, ein Ort im südlichen Zipfel der Insel, ist die Kirschblüte deshalb deutlich später als in anderen Teilen Japans.
Der ultimative Ort um die Kirschblüte in Hakodate zu bewundern und zu genießen ist der Goryoukaku Park. Hier sind über 1500 Kirschbäume gepflanzt, je nach Quelle sind es sogar über 1600. Ich habe sie nicht gezählt. Die ersten Bäume wurden 1914 gepflanzt, als der Park der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht wurde.
Die meistens Kirschbäume haben hier eine hellere Blüte als an anderen Orten. Je nach Licht ist sie fast weiß oder hell rosé. Ich finde, diese Farbe passt hervorragend zu Hokkaido.
Davor war die Anlage eine Festung nach westlichem Stil.
