(Saffron-crowned Tanager / Tángara coronada)
Saffron-crowned Tanager is a brightly colored tanager with a distinctive yellow head. This species occurs through the Andes from Colombia and Venezuela south to Bolivia, and occupies humid montane forests and secondary woodlands.
Due to human destruction of habitat, it is hypothesized that the population numbers are decreasing. Like most Tangara tanagers, the Saffron-crowned is sexually monomorphic.

For my Canadian friends! A RCAF F-18 Hornet in special colors waves to fans at the 'Wings over Wayne' 2017 air show at Seymour Johnson Air Force base in Goldsboro, North Carolina.
This little calf was on the west bank of the Sagavanirktok River, commonly called the Sag River, and its mother was on the east side. When I first arrived, I seen a small herd of muskox on the east side of the river. I heard a sound coming from north of my location but had no idea what it was. As the young muskox came closer and seen me, it started wailing really loud. In an instant, the entire herd stared running towards the Sag River at full gallop. When the herd got close to the bank, they stopped, they too had noticed the photographer taking pictures. After a few minutes, the calf wailed again and off they went to where the calf was, but, they stayed on the east side of the river. The calf's mother, waded into the river but would not cross. She kept calling to the calf but the calf refused to cross. The herd walked slowly to the south, which put me between the calf and the herd. The calf began a fast gait towards the herd, which put me right in its path. There was no time to retreat back to the truck, so I stayed put and took photos.
In this photo, the calf was about 20 to 30 feet away. It kept its eyes on me as it passed me by. About 200 yards south of where I was standing, the calf finally had enough courage to cross the river and rejoin its herd.
