A Barn Owl during the flight show at the Pacific Northwest Raptor Center. (Duncan, BC).
This is one of the few in-flight shots I managed. I suspected the 400 mm lens would be too big for the flight field, and I was right. I was standing on the last bench, backed up against a row of bushes, and found that there just wasn't enough line of sight to get a decent lead on the birds before they flew by. This was hand held, and an experiment, since the 400 mm is the only decent long lens I have. The last time I was here I had a 75-300 mm kit lens with poor clarity and produced purple aura around whites, even on cloudy days...

A mix of liveries for the IC 612 from Lecce to Milano Centrale, in transit between the fields of Castel San Pietro Terme (BO) pulled by the E.414.148 of Trenitalia.
Another 148 heads out of Glenwood after getting fueled up for the journey east, which took longer than expected due to the fuel truck getting stuck in snow and needing a tow truck to pull it out (no, not joking). The train wouldn't get too far before needing another crew change at Murray, where they would also wait for a couple westbounds.
CN 5731, CN 8847 & CN 2231 is the power on CN 148 as it kicks up the snow heading east through Beaconsfield. This was the morning after the Kingston Sub reopened after a derailment had closed it for a few days around Christmas.
