I met Jolly Ol’ John on the streets of Santa Cruz, Ca. He is quite a character, and this is his home…all 200 pounds he wheels around. I enjoyed listening to his stories, and it made my day when John told me I made his day chatting with him.

Five years ago today - the pair of 1444 and 1412 make their first appearance together on 514. The foam piles that would follow in the weeks to come kept me away.
CN 1444 and 1439 head south on the Sarnia Spur with train 514 to switch out grain cars at the mill in Blenheim.
Switching work completed with a pair of 61 year old GMD1's at Thamesville, CN 1444 prepares to depart for the trip back to Chatham.
