Branston Hall is a country house in the village of Branston, Lincolnshire. The hall is a Grade II listed building,[1] and is set in 88 acres of wooded parkland and lakes.
Designed by John Macvicar Anderson in 1885, the house was built in Elizabethan Revival style.
Originally commissioned as the family seat of the Melville family, the house became an RAF hospital during the Second World War, and then a sanatorium run by Lindsey County Council.
The house lay derelict in the 1970s but in the late 1980s it underwent restoration and conversion into a retirement, and it is now restored and converted into a hotel.
They are "mudding"--gathering mud to build their nest. They are so much fun to watch as they dig in the mud and then fly off with a mouthful. This was happening along the banks of a river but I have also seen them gathered in a puddle doing the same thing.

DE3 138 als trein 8034 Emmen - Zwolle passeert de uitrijseinen van Mariënberg en gaat stoppen in het station op 9 maart 1983. Hierna is het baanvak vrij en kan de buurtgoederentrein vertrekken richting Emmen.

It is raining today here where I live. I thought it was a good time to upload (and share) another photo of the Cuban Tody.
These guys are my favourite bird. I have been fortunate to see perhaps a dozen, in different parts of Cuba, and it is always a thrill to see, and photograph them.

Il pleut aujourd'hui ici où je vis. Je pensais que c'était le bon moment pour télécharger (et partager) une autre photo du Cubain Tody.
Ces gars sont mon oiseau préféré. J'ai eu la chance de voir peut-être une douzaine, dans différentes parties de Cuba, et c'est toujours un plaisir de voir et de les photographier.

Estos chicos son mi pájaro favorito. He tenido la suerte de ver tal vez una docena en diferentes partes de Cuba, y siempre es emocionante verlos y fotografiarlos.

Today's story and sketch by me, #1380 is one strange tale about the pedestrian named Old Bill Brown, He was just dumped out of a Blue Dimension Twister, under the pictured banana palm. This Bill Brown Story started last week on the Planet Earth, seems this fellow has lived in an apartment above, a Magic Shop on Acorn Street in Boston Massachusetts, for one hundred and ten years. His name is Bill, and no one can remember when Bill didn't live on Acorn Street. Last Tuesday morning Bill jumped into his scooter, and was driving toward Louisburg Square Park, a very upscale park he visits every Tuesday to compete in the weekly lawn bowling tournament. Bill was driving his scooter on the cobblestone Street just about to enter the park where he and almost the entire Beacon Hill neighborhood, became covered in a deep dark blue swirling fog, then he and everything disappeared, leaving a very large sink hole where Louisburg Park once existed. Bill arrived here with his mobility scooter, without the park, what happened to a large chunk of Boston Common, and Louisburg Park, will have to be a story for another time, until then Tata the Rod Blog.
