I feel that my current preference for black and white comes from a sort of tiredness with reality. Tired of the mundane scenes that photo walks are offering, tired of the visual noise of an urban environment. This series, a mixed bag of images from recently and (way) before, tied together by a layer of monochrome, somehow feels apt for this timeframe. Time that is made up from a blur of successive days that I hardly can tell apart, inducing a sort of meditative, detachted state of mind. Images of bricks and stones, of memories of past landscapes. A world coming to a stand still, while time is accelatering, leaving not much of a trace.

Ein Altvogel hielt die Jungen und uns im Auge, so gegen 21:30 Uhr begann dann die "Raubtierfütterung" mit viel Geschrei und Flügen der Jungen. Fledermäuse rundeten dann das Bild noch schön ab.
Today's story and sketch by me, #1364, would be a fabulous funny tale, it it wasn't actually such a tragedy. The confused pedestrian you see under the banana palm, just arrived through a dimension portal, that opened as a swirling Blue Cloud and spit out the Elf known as Arni. His tragic adventure started two days ago in Keebler Oklahoma, Arni was going to star in a cookie infomercial, but just as he walked into the makeup trailer, he the make up artist and company Esthetician, a professional lady who uses steamy hot wax to brush on unwanted hair, let's it cool then rips it off removing all hair a bit of flesh, usually a with a bit of screaming. Elves are known to have gnarly facial, and back hair, which doesn't look attractive in close ups. Just as Arni walked into the trailer, it was swallowed in a Big Blue Dimension Twister. Arni was spit out where you see him, on this Tropical Volcanic Planet we call Budahunga, what happened to the makeup trailer, the makeup lady, and Esthetician, will have to be a story for another time, until then Tata the Rod Blog.

Hampi is an ancient village in the south Indian state of Karnataka. It’s dotted with numerous ruined temple complexes from the Vijayanagara Empire. On the south bank of the River Tungabhadra is the 7th-century Hindu Virupaksha Temple
The long hike from Pindaya to Kalaw
If you have the time and energy, a great alternative to a day trip is to go by road from Kalaw to Pindaya, and return to Kalaw on a hike through the hills and tribal villages of this beautiful part of Shan State. The Danu and Pa-O tribes who live here have their own languages and look quite distinct from the Burmese, both ethnically and in their dress.
They are also passionate about their independent identity, often displaying local flags on their houses and vehicles. The journey from Pindaya to Kalaw will typically take three days and two nights, although you may be able to cover it in two days and one night if you manage to cover a lot of ground (and don’t get lost!).
There is no formal accommodation between Pindaya and Kalaw, but monasteries are always happy to welcome foreigners (male and female) for the night, and they will usually provide you with a hearty meal. In Pindaya town centre, you can find a tour information centre run by an old trekking guide called U Myint Thoung, who will happily give you advice and directions.
