This plant is Crown of Thorns (Euphorbia milii).
Identification
Stems: Woody, gray-brown, covered with long sharp spines (up to 2.5 cm).
Leaves: Small, oval, glossy green, arranged in clusters near stem tips.
Flowers: The bright red structures are not true petals, but bracts (modified leaves). The actual flowers are tiny and found in the center of the bracts.
Growth form: A spiny succulent shrub, often grown as a houseplant or in warm outdoor climates.
Description
Family: Euphorbiaceae (the spurge family).
Origin: Native to Madagascar.
Height: Typically 2–3 ft as a houseplant, but can grow much larger outdoors in tropical zones.
Flowering: Almost year-round in warm climates; bracts can be red, pink, yellow, or white depending on the cultivar.
Sap: Produces a white, latex-like sap if cut—irritant and mildly toxic.
Habitat & Cultivation
Prefers full sun and well-draining soil.
Drought-tolerant—stores water in its stems.
Grown as an ornamental plant worldwide, especially valued for its long blooming season.
Try to relax and look at the flower for a while, without taking your eyes off. Turn on your imagination and it can be unusual.
