Na bijna 3 jaar aan de kant te hebben gestaan, na heractivering voor HSL eind 2015, was op de grijze, grauwe en kille zondag 9 december 2018 dan toch weer zover, de loc kon op eigen kracht weer over het Nederlandse spoor! Nadat de 1122 haar motor had afgestaan aan de 1304 mocht deze loc haar donor onder de voor deze loc zo kenmerkende weersomstandigheden naar Blerick brengen. Terwijl de regen gelukkig net even is gestopt passeert het convooi hier Dordrecht op weg richting Blerick.

Just another frame of this scene looking the opposite direction (compass south and railroad west) at this non revenue Keolis/MBTA extra 'double draft' of the 2003/1716 set towing the dead 1122/1809 set in from Rockport due to the 1122 having a bad starter. They are at MP 17.7 on Main 1 of the Eastern Route mainline and have just left Beverly and entered the city of Salem while crossing the Danvers River on the 905 ft long Beverly Draw in this view looking down from the parallel Essex Street bridge. They are slowing for a stop at the Northey Point interlocking to meet a pair of revenue trains before proceeding on to Boston Engine Terminal in Somerville.

The railroad can trace its roots here back to 1836 when the Eastern Railroad opened between Boston and Portsmouth, NH. By 1884 it was under the control of the Boston and Maine and remained an integral part of the powerful New England class 1 until it was sold in 1976 along with all the other commuter district lines to the commonwealth by the trustees of the then bankrupt road. In 1984 a major fire damaged the bridge and the approach trestles were replaced with concrete but the 105 ft long swing span dating from 1886 wouldn't be replaced until 2017. Since 1984 this bridge has been passenger only, as what was by then Guilford didn't resume freight operations after the bridge was repaired.
