L'aigrette garzette a un régime alimentaire très varié : petits poissons, insectes aquatiques et terrestres, crustacés, mollusques et aussi de petits lézards, de petits reptiles et d'amphibiens. Sa technique de chasse est assez élaborée, elle se positionne dans une eau peu profonde à proximité d'une végétation flottante pour surprendre ses proies à l'ombre, quand il n'y a pas de végétation, elle s'accroupit et étend ses ailes au ras de l'eau sans bouger pour créer de l'ombre et attirer les proies qu'elle attrape en projetant avec rapidité son bec redoutable. Elle peut aussi mettre en œuvre une autre technique qui consiste à rester sur une patte pendant que l'autre fouille la vase pour faire sortir des petits poissons qu'elle peut alors attraper facilement. Les jeunes sont nourris par les parents jusqu'au jour de leur envol, au bout de cinq semaines.

Bit different for me today. The curves and textures of this tulip bud drew me to it in the first place but the colour needed to go to bring them out.
Eva doing her best album cover shot by a mural on the back of Amigo's restaurant/bar in Saskatoon. I was wanting a different shot, but lighting and construction got in the way. But in the end this abstract mural of musical instruments and notes did the trick.
