Only 10mm across and growing out of a banksia stump. Mushroom season seems to have started early this year, but not surprising given the amount of rain lately.

Probably on the limits of the Tak 50mm without tubes.

St. John's cathedral started as a romanesque church in about 1220. As from 1340 the church was extended in the present Gothic style. Construction was finished in 1525. So all in all this building is 500+ years old.

Llandudno is a lovely seaside town, on the North Wales Coast, and has a wonderful Victorian Pier, this is what it looked like at 5am this morning!

The title is one of the tracks from Pink Floyd's final album, the Endless River, which makes it cool right :)

Rod & Reel Pier on Anna Maria Island, Florida. We went there this morning for breakfast. During the night it started to rain and just stopped before we arrived. The rain clouds and the morning light made for a special atmosphere, which I hope I have also captured in the picture here. I shot the scene with my Fuji X-E1 with an adapted 10-20mm Sigma lens attached. This is the second version of this scene with the lens set at 10mm (15mm in FF), which gives you a much wider view with more sky. It will be fun to see, which version gets more faves...;-)

Have a great weekend everyone (this is "Memorial Day weekend," which marks the unofficial start to summer in the U.S.). I'll be taking a break from posting photos this weekend, but will do my best to comment on my friends' work (but I can make no promises).

All dressed up for the ball.... The species of the genus Aegires are all small, and feed on calcareous sponges. The purple tipped papillae make this species easily recognisable. One character of most dorids is a circle of feathery gills in the middle of the back. (Seaslug forum)

This Christmas bauble was hand beaded with sequins and pins by me. I have a Christmas tradition. I bead Christmas baubles for a select group of friends every year. In this case they are for a friend, who like me, elects red as her favourite colour, but also likes gold, white, black and silver accents for her tree.

Each bauble is 15 centimetres in diameter and contain hundreds of sequins, varying in number depending upon the complexity of the pattern and the type of sequins I use. Most sequins in this bauble are 5mm in diameter, except the flowers, the larger of the petals which are 10mm and their centres which are 4mm. The flower centres are raised cups and are imported from France. Depending upon the colour of the sequin, I will use either a gold or a silver pin to attach it to the bauble. I always leave the flowers until last, allowing a gap in the sequin chain to pin them in.

These baubles are smaller than some others I do, and because it is a simple pattern which starts from the inside and is worked outwards in ever larger circles, each bauble takes approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours per side.

It is however, a labour of love which I do to pass the time throughout the year.
