Middle of the day, came upon this bat traveling along the sidewalk. Stopped my bike, grabbed my camera and took a few shots, and this bat started flying straight at me showing his teeth. Needless to say, i got out of its path, and proceeded to take a few more shots. It didn't seem right seeing this creature in the mid-day sun, hence the song by 10cc.
With it being Valentines day tomorrow, the theme for this week is "love".
There are just too many records with Love in the title, but this one was on the turntable so become the easy choice.

Brian is really going all out to impress his intended mate!
The title for the image is taken from a track by 10cc from their 1976 Deceptive Bends album. I came to hate this song as my flatmate at the time got a new boyfriend and they were totally loved up and played this song constantly - in my perpetual single state I found this extremely annoying.
For Macro Mondays theme 'Amore'. A Phalaenopsis orchid leaf was sturdy enough to take the weight of two little snails. A few tiny flowers from a small hebe plant just starting to bloom in my garden were harmlessly Blu Tacked to the shell of Brian.
Despite needing to work with two snails, this was a surprisingly straightforward photoshoot. Much of getting a successful snail shot relies on an understanding of what a snail will do given a certain circumstance. I know from experience that if I can't get a snail to do what I want, it is probably because I haven't set things up to suit them. For this image, I placed the smaller snail at the end of the leaf, knowing its natural behaviour would be to look down; I could then concentrate on getting Brian positioned hanging off the leaf with his bouquet of flowers.
No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph.

The song was written as a reflection on the music industry in the 1970s, goodness knows what 10cc make of the current scene!
The sculpture gallery is located in the former Leeds Corn Exchange and is a collective of local artists, all of whom seemed happy to talk with prospective customers.
Given how busy the gallery was, I wondered if I’d get a clear view of the train. Fortune was on my side when the artist on duty temporarily closed up over lunchtime!
