Vor fünf Jahren fanden zahlreiche Umleitungen vom Brenner über die Tauernbahn statt. Doch einen Umleitergüterzug über den Tauern mit einer Lok zu erwischen, war eher schwierig. 186 106 brauchte jedoch für ihren GAG 48867 keine Vorspannlok und konnte bei Angertal an dem Motiv, wo eine Doppeltraktion eher unpassend wäre, abgelichtet werden.

Butterfly World. Victoria B.C. It's both hot and humid inside places like this and sometimes hard on cameras and lens that are not weather sealed. It takes about 15 minutes for your lens to clear the fog off before you can begin shooting.
I bought a new Sigma F/2.8 Macro that has an image stable system in it for portable hand held fun. Very nice. You can see the sharp detail if you zoom in on this one.
It was a good buy I think and a lot less than the Canon or Nikon versions without the image stable system and slower F/stop.
The lens is much lighter as well to pack around handheld like I do.
This lens would be good company for those that shoot with smaller canon rebels and the ladies would love this one as a nice upgrade into the macro world. I don't want this to sound like a sales pitch but it is a nice lens to say the least. F/9 and F/11 are the sweet spots with this one.
Das Highlight im Baustellenverkehr zwischen Schliersee und Bayrischzell war mit Sicherheit die 221 106, welche sich in einem optisch astreinen Zustand befand. Bei Hammer war die altrote Lok hier mit einem Schotterzug zur nächsten Schotterstelle unterwegs.

I had to stop messing with this one.. It didn't come out the way I wanted but I think it still looks decent :-) I was standing on a bit of a cliff and it was mighty high so I was trying not to fall. I am so afraid of heights so I was impressed by what I accomplished!!!
This is at such a beautiful location that has some of the best views in western MA. There is an old hotel that is no longer in use that normally you can go in or stand on the balcony for the greatest perspective but unfortunately it is under construction and I couldn't get there!!! Oh well.. The was the best I could do with what I had..

This sunset was taken at Maplewood Park in Jenison.
Adding to the eulogy for Wheeling GP35 No. 106 which was literally destroyed in the recent derailment in Akron, here the locomotive is seen in better days, teaming up with another HH Geep to pull an eastbound empty coke train up the hill at Douglas on a beautiful fall day in Wayne County, Ohio. It's easy to be annoyed that both engines involved happened to be nicely painted tigers, but the fact remains that nobody was hurt, and that's just another item on the long list of things I'm thankful for today.
