Jeanea thought it was about time for her to have a new knitted garment. She's making it from the unraveled yarn that came from the sweater I made her skirt from.

Day 94/100 #100daysofJeanea #The100DayProject

Jeanea was tired of staying inside in the air conditioning and went out for a brief stroll. Brief because I had to braid the onions that I had pulled earlier. I only managed to pull about 1/3 of them before I got too hot. I have to do the rest today.

I just read that it's edible too. Who knew? The endive and lettuce have been great.

I know, silly title, but somehow I thought of it and it stuck. These were my grandma's ceramic ducks. They sat on her kitchen counter.

I love the way she is sitting on the trunk. There aren't any "cheats" holding her there.

Grandsweetie #3, aged 6, made this all on her own and told me what it was. She was super tickled at how the mouth opened and closed.

Posting from when my computer was unable to connect to the internet.

Two of Jeanea's favorite things. We found a new rose for her hat. This one is knitted.

Jeanea has a new hat and a new kitten. The kitty came from the thrift store today. I was looking for a pet for Jeanea. I think I found one.

25/31 ~ A Doll a Day in May ~ Janie wants to hang out with Jeanea after her month as hostess is over. She has seen her #100daysofjeanea project and says it looks like she had a lot of adventures and got to change her clothes every day too. She also quite likes Jeanea’s style and would like to have a wardrobe like hers. I’m pretty sure Jeanea’s was my first Whatever’s Clean 13 doll wardrobe. Click on the link for photos of the wardrobe and Jeanea in 25 outfits from the wardrobe.

This outfit was what we found for them to match. Janie is OK with it. She feels quite adventurous.

Grandsweetie picked out pink chenille for her doll's mermaid tail. I was surprised at how effective it is. Plus, it's so cuddly.

My daughter-in-law gave me three hand crocheted Barbie dresses that she and her sister played with. This one fits Jeanea, but she wears it her way.

I managed to replant the okra, plant some more radishes, long asparagus beans, but not the bush beans before the rain started coming down too hard. I didn't manage to stay dry, but got Jeanea in before she got too wet.

Grandsweetie #1 has been wanting to draw on dishes with Sharpies for ages. Today we found some good ones at the thrift store and she set right to work. She did this without looking at anything. I was impressed.

Jeanea checks out my work as I finish up some indexing. I did quite a bit earlier in the year and am just now getting back to it.

This project is interesting to me because it's older (1889-90) than the others I've done. Also it's from Mazatlán, Mexico where I stayed for a month between 4th and 5th grades.

These records are very similar in style and information to the ones I've been finding for my own ancestors from France and Belgium from the same time period, quite different from the American records.

They were sad, too, as many were records for a niño muerto, or dead child, usually a few days old when recorded. Also there were many more "natural" as opposed to legitimate children than I had expected from other indexing. Often these were brought to the court to record by their fathers and the mothers aren't listed, especially for the deceased ones. The judge always states that he is giving the child the name as required by law for these occurrences.

Grandsweetie is still working on the feet and has decided that she will leave the mouth unpainted.

I have eight braids hanging here and need to go out and pull the rest of them. I dread it because it's so hot.

Day 93/100 #100daysofJeanea #The100DayProject

Our front steps came from the house my husband grew up in. They had 1906 written in the concrete.

These are the first geraniums I've successfully wintered over. They were cheerful in the house and now they are blooming again. One of my favorite AR memories is of an elderly lady who had a multitude of geraniums in old cans in her windows.

Day 71/100 #100daysofJeanea #The100DayProject

Jeanea isn't sure about her new blouse. We didn't like it opening in the back at all, so we tried a front opening. Better, but not there yet.

I finally got around to using the chains I bought to make Jeanea some necklaces.

We got it planted yesterday. Of course Jeanea had to go out and see it. Check out her new sandals. I crocheted them today. I'm pretty tickled with them. You can read pattern info and see close-ups if you're so inclined at Ravelry.
