"1.21 Jigawatts" is a non-HDR image that was processed using a combination of ACR, Photoshop, and Topaz Labs plugins (Adjust, Clean, Denoise, Glow, Impression and Texture Effects).
Two juxtapositioned numbers at the Walkerville Woolworths. The 1 is a lane with human checkout, while the 5 is for a self-checkout station.
The green "Assisted checkout" sign is a little misleading, but it means that a human will help if you are having trouble with contrary instructions issued by the self-checkout machine. While I actually like the idea of the self-checkout, these days I don't shop often enough to get use to it. Last time, I put my bag on the wrong side of the machine and it didn't like that.

Een bollenveld is een bijproduct van de bloembollenteelt dat in Nederland talrijke buitenlandse toeristen trekt.
Een bollenveld is een akker waarop op commerciële wijze bolgewassen (aanvankelijk alleen tulpen) worden gekweekt. Nadat de bollen in bloei zijn gekomen worden zij gekopt. De bollen worden vervolgens geoogst en over de hele wereld geëxporteerd, waar zij door de kopers in eigen tuin worden geplant.
De eerste bollenvelden ontstonden vanaf de tweede helft van de 19e eeuw in de huidige Bollenstreek. Ook tegenwoordig vindt men de meeste bollenvelden nog in de Bollenstreek en het noorden van de provincie Noord-Holland, maar ook elders in het land, onder andere in de buurt van Venlo, op Texel, in het noordwesten van de provincie Friesland, in de Noordoostpolder en op de Zeeuwse en Zuid-Hollandse eilanden kan men bollenvelden aantreffen.

Cosmic dust clouds dim the light of background stars. But they also reflect the light of stars nearby. Since bright stars tend to radiate strongly in the blue portion of the visible spectrum, and the interstellar dust scatters blue light more strongly than red, the dusty reflection nebulae tend to be blue. Lovely examples are the wispy blue reflection nebulae near bright, hot stars Pi and Delta Scorpii in this telescopic skyscape from the head of the constellation Scorpius. Of course, the contrasting red emission nebulae are also caused by the hot stars' energetic radiation. Ultraviolet photons ionize hydrogen atoms in the interstellar clouds producing the characteristic red hydrogen alpha emission line as the electrons recombine. About 600 light-years away, the nebulae are found in the second version of the Sharpless Catalog as Sh2-1 (left, with reflection nebulae VdB 99) and Sh2-7. Edificio 1 at Sabacce, again, but in this image I let the gorgeous Chaca trees, growing up around the ruin, take centre stage.
At the end of November, I took my third trip to Mexico since 2014 to photograph Mayan ruins. I visited a number of ruins not open to the public, overgrown and hidden in the jungle, in order to continue working on my series of infrared images of Mayan Ruins. Many people think that the large ruins (Chichen Itza, Uxmal, Labna, Sayil, etc.) comprise the totality of Mayan civilization in the Yucatan, but there are literally hundreds of smaller or satellite cities spread throughout Yucatan and Campeche. These are the ruins that draw me - beautiful, sometimes remote, ruins, partially overgrown, but still standing after more than a thousand years.

Day 1 of the G&W's first assimilation looked like this. The R&S began at midnight on July 21, 1986, taking over the Chessie (BR&P) 4th Sub between Rochester and Ashford Junction. Preparing to leave Brooks Yard that morning was the first R&S train to run to Salamanca. G&W 63 & 62 bookend P&LE 1585 at the South end of the yard in Gates, NY. The pair of Alco's would hold down the road train assignment for the first few weeks until used GP40's started to arrive. Chessie power would also run through from Salamanca, especially on the coal trains.
Sonntag maritim 1 – Gestern (17.06.2023) kam es in Warnemünde am Rostocker Seekanal zu einem gefährlichen Eingriff sogenannter „Klima-Aktivisten“ in den See- und Hafenverkehr.
Der Kreuzliner „AIDAdiva“ wurde am planmäßigen Auslaufen um 18.00 Uhr gehindert, Täter kletterten auf Masten und seilten sich an, auf der Wasserseite wurde das Kreuzfahrtschiff mit kleinen Booten attackiert, Parolen wurden an der Schiffswand angebracht.
Der Schiffsverkehr wurde erheblich behindert. Zum Beispiel hier zu sehen das Auslaufen des 250-Meter-Tankers „SEASPRITE“. Vier Hafenschlepper und mehrere Polizeiboote sicherten hier ab.
Letztlich sprangen diese Personen dann ins Wasser und mussten durch die Polizei mit kleinen Booten geborgen werden.
Danach lief auch noch der 180 Meter-Bulker „HAMBURG WAY“ ein.
Die „AIDAdiva“ konnte gegen 20.00 Uhr endlich ihre Reise nach Stockholm antreten.

A tribute to my first Star Wars photo. I just wanna say a huge thank you to each and every single one of my followers. I've been here for not even two years, and I've grown so much since the TIE MOC I made for the Brickset competition, uploaded on December 1, 2016, my very first photos. It's been a varied, fun, and wild ride since then, and none of this would've been possible without y'all's support. Again, thank you all so much, and I hope to continue to inspire you guys with new and, well, inspirational photos :)
