But summerly temperatures will remain for some days.
The light has changed since some days and its getting dark earlier.
First birds (storks and swallows) has left us earlier as usual.
So I will leave too but not in southerly direction - will move westwards.

Am 1. September begann der meteorologsche Herbst in der nörtdlichen Hemisphäre.
Das Licht hat sich schon ein wenig verändert, und am Sternenhimmel geschieht Interessantes im September:

Einige Vogelarten(Störche, Schwalben) sind schon in den Süden gezogen , die Mauersegler jagen bei uns für kurze Zeit noch mit ihren schrillen Rufen über den Himmel.
Für mich ein Symbol des Sommers.Ich bewundere sie sehr.
Seit ihrem Schlüpfen ständig in der Luft, manchmal bis zu 30 km/h...
So will auch ich nochmals für einige Tage losziehen allerdings ncht in südliche, sondern in westliche Richtung..

Fritillaria imperialis, the crown imperial, imperial fritillary or Kaiser's crown, is a species of flowering plant in the lily family Liliaceae, native to a wide stretch from the Anatolian plateau of Turkey, Iraq and Iran (i.e. Kurdistan) to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Northern India and the Himalayan foothills.[...] The common names and also the epithet "imperialis", literally "of the emperor", refer to the large circle of golden flowers, reminiscent of an emperor's crown.[8]
Fritillaria imperialis grows to about 1 m (3 ft) in height, and bears lance-shaped, glossy leaves at intervals along the stem. It bears a prominent whorl of downward facing [pendulous] flowers at the top of the stem, topped by a 'crown' of small leaves, hence the name. While the wild form is usually orange-red, various colours are found in cultivation, ranging from nearly a true scarlet through oranges to yellow. Wikipedia

After several days of shooting with David Swindler, he kindly invited me to join his group out to White Pocket. WP has been at the top of my list for several years, so thanks to David I was able to strike that one off my list. That's Cody Wilson way off in the background, I happened to look up from my composition and noticed he was going to have to remove me from his photo if I didn't high tail it out of his shot. So I fired off a couple so that he would lend a sense of scale to the scene. Had a lot of fun shooting here but if you show up during the day its not nearly as impressive as dusk. All the textures start to pop out and the sandstone glows in the twilight. Had a great time and met some really nice people.

Shot with the SJCAM SJ8 Pro actioncam. The EXIF data ist not present in the RAW image. The used Sony IMX377 sensor (the same as in my Nexus 5X) delivers quiet impressive results for a sensor of only 1/2.3" size.
An actioncam has not the best and biggest sensor or high quality optics but the ultrawideangle look that you can get is unbeaten for the weight, price and robustness. As many of them now also support RAW it has become my ultrawideangle lens replacement. In the narrow streets of cities a piece of gold in my pocket.

Day 1 of 20 of albums that influenced my musical tastes. I'll start with Standing on a Beach. I remember listening this CD everyday in my high school years, in my house or in my friend's room, feeding our minds with these dark sounds and some bright musical notes, creating our perfect soundtrack for the teenager.

Jack-up barge Haven Seajack 1 assembled and waiting for a weather window to go to Fair Isle according to Marine Traffic, I am guessing this will be part of the civil engineering works to determine the best location to build the Fair Isle's first Ro/Ro ferry terminal. This has been directly funded by the UK government by way of their "Levelling Up Fund" The project has been awarded approx. £27,000,000. Some people have commented about the politics of the UK government funding projects in Scotland rather than giving the money to the Scottish government. *This post is not political* It is merely to show the barge and what the reason for it is in Orkney. Fair Isle is the winner, no matter who pays for the work. *Please do not post any political comments - just be happy that the people of Fair Isle are finally going to get served by a Ro/Ro ferry instead of Lo/Lo [lift on/off] for more info see
I believe this is one of the Horse Fly species. I submitted it for ID 17 days ago but haven't had a reply yet. I was approximately 1 3/4 inches long. If anyone has any idea what it is I would love to know.

Last week Marybeth told me to come out because there was frost on everything and it looked cool with the sun shinning on it. I went out with my vintage Pentacon 50mm f/1.8 to see what I could find. That lens is a funny lens, the sun angle was too low and I got nothing from the yard. When I came in and started to process the shots this was the first one that grabbed my eye. A frosty fence in bokeh!

I held an A4 sheet of white satin photo paper behind a small (1 3/4") Morning Glory flower and also used some tin foil to help to eliminate shadow. I took the macro outside in natural sunlight.
