The Traverse City State Hospital of Traverse City, Michigan has been variously known as the Northern Michigan Asylum and the Traverse City Regional Psychiatric Hospital. I had met my friend while on a tour in Switzerland and Austria. She knew I liked lighthouses and she was kind enough to invite me to visit California to take picture of lighthouses. This was the first lighthouse we went to as soon as she picked me up at the airport.

I was taken by the color I saw here. This is a bit of a departure for me. Using the acronym I particularly dislike, this shot is virtually SOOC. The only processing I did on this photo -- outside of the camera -- was a slight crop. And of course the presentation. Photo itself is untouched, and shows the flower as I -- or rather the camera -- saw it.

Using nature I think that it would bring a sense of peace and harmony in to my pictures reminding us where we all started before modernization all began. Even though we live in a very developed society compared to the early humans, I hope to draw the idea that we should conserve and appreciate nature. I think with the horizontal lanes and path it will help us focus on the main subject which are the children.
Through a child's behavior we can conclude that they do not have to worry about or what life has installed for them e.g bills, food, necessities etc.. Children are all free from these problems which on the other hand these elements have created a burden on us adults. I want to remind us adults when the tough gets going we should learn to enjoy and appreciate the finer things in life by bringing ourselves back down and view things through innocent eyes.
