Red-Headed Woodpecker.
A 10 inch long bird. Whole head is red, wings and tail bluish-black which a large white patch on each wing, white underparts and white rump. It is conspicuous in flight. Immature resembles adult but has a brown head, 2 dark bars on white ring patch.
Their habitat consists of open-county, farms, rural roads, open park-like woodland, and golf-courses.
They range from Saskatchewan to Quebec in Canada south to the Gulf Coast and Florida. They are scarce in the northeastern U.S. states. They winter mainly in the southern part of their range.

Gedurende de werkzaamheden behorende bij BBV Limburg (in Noord-Brabant) van Strukton Rail in maart 2023, was ook DB Cargo met een tractievoertuig van de partij. Een 6400 van de Duitse goederenvervoerder werd ingezet voor het rijden van vuile ballasttreinen bestaande uit Klmos'en.
Na een locatiebezoek aan bovenleidingstrein Gemma op 2 maart, werden bij het ketenpark c.q. ballastdepot nog wat foto's gemaakt. Hier werd ook de duwende 6430 vastgelegd. Terwijl de rode machine ronkend langsrolt staat links van de trein staat de grote overslagkraan van Verhoeks Overslag te niksen. De sporen rechts van de trein zijn bezet met een door VolkerRail gereden schone ballasttrein en de eigen continustopmachine CSM5.
De VolkerRail ballasttrein ging later weg om verderop te gaan lossen, zie foto.
Nadat de optocht in Heukelom ten einde was gekomen reed ik nog even via Boxtel naar huis. Ik gokte op SBB met de Busto naar Venlo. Na aankomst verscheen een melding dat de trein met logobak onderweg en beladen was. Een dik half uur later kon er tevreden afgedrukt worden.
Vandaag reed de Plan V van het Spoorwegmuseum een uitgebreide conditierit door Noord-Holland, waarbij ook een retourtje naar Zandvoort op de planning stond. Nadat eerst het Haarlemse kruis vanaf Bloemendaal richting Haarlem goederen werd bereden, reed de trein hierna vanaf station Haarlem richting Zandvoort over de andere richting van het kruis. Als trein 82103 rijdt Plan V 876 door de duinen als bijna station Zandvoort wordt bereikt.
Voordat de ES voorbij kwam reed er nog een NMBS koppeltje 28’ers voorbij met I11 rijtuigen. Helaas weet ik niet of dit omgeleid of een overbrenging was. We zien het geheel hier Nispen passeren.
In de namiddag van 2 maart is de 186 269 van Crossrail 'Rhenus Logistics' onderweg met een goed beladen containertrein naar België als deze de fotografen passeert in Griendtsveen.

St. Luke’s and Christ Church

The church was consecrated in 1839 due to the expansion of London. Prior to this Chelsea was open countryside. The church was essentially for working class people employed in the many grand houses in the vicinity.
The church was built in the traditional style, The Nave, Aisles and a gallery over the Aisles. It had a large pulpit in the centre but no place for a choir. A bit austere.
The church was designed by Edward Blore a very well-known individual. He designed the main front of Buckingham Palace in 1846.
In 1876 the church was gifted firstly an organ from St Michael, Queenhithe and secondly the pulpit from an unknown city church. Both these were gifts from churches that were demolished due to reconstruction of the City. In 1890 there were alterations, the nave roof was completely rebuilt, and there was further renovation to the supporting pillars between aisles and the nave. Both the west and east ends of the church were extended. Finally the western gallery and most of the old pews were removed. New larger pews were installed.
It has some lovely windows; one particularly is designed from The Creation to honour William Wilberforce and the Earl of Shaftsbury with their efforts to bring social justice into the main stream of life.
Na Willemsdorp werd met gezwinde spoed naar Nispen gereden voor één van de laatste skitreinen van European Sleeper. In Nederland werd de trein gereden door TCS, in België werd Certus Rail gecharterd om de tractie te verzorgen.
De locwissel vindt plaats in Roosendaal en zo kan op het laatste stukje Nederlands spoor ook de Belgische tractie worden vastgelegd. Om kwart over elf sluit de overweg en komt de trein rollend tevoorschijn.
"Hopelijk gaat de beugel op tijd omhoog!", wordt er veelvuldig gezegd. In de spanningssluis tussen de Hollandse 1500 V en de Belgische 3 kV moet de pantograaf gestreken worden. Gelukkig werkte de machinist mee en was de beugel op tijd weer op.
Langs de horde fotografen komt Certus Rail Solutions 2731 met European Sleeper 1278 voorbij gereden. De trein is onderweg van München Hauptbahnhof naar Brussel-Zuid/Midi.
Mourning Dove.
A 12 inch long bird with a soft, sandy buff color. They have a long pointed tail bordered with white and withblack spots on the wings.
It inhabits open fields, parks, and lawns with many trees and shrubs.
They range throughout the United States and Canada and winters in the northern United States.
